Land of Confusion // Roman

This night was just not what she had expected in the slightest when she left. She had wanted to just take a bloody walk to get control of her thoughts, not find herself more irritated at everything that was being said, hiding in a classroom with someone who hated her guts. Even if she and Roman had seemingly made up for a brief moment, that meant nothing, as far as she was concerned. After this night, he would probably go back to pushing her away and there was nothing she could do about that. It would be as if nothing here was ever said and that they hadn’t just heard something that they were probably not meant to hear. It really didn’t matter all that much as she was at least going to investigate, now no longer trusting anyone in authority positions at the school as any of them could have been involved, apparently.

It was angering her by the minute as her mind reviewed the details of what she had heard, slightly offended that it almost seemed implied that her family deserved what they had coming to them. For all she knew, Roman might have agreed with them…though, she supposed it almost seemed like he was still wanting to protect her. Perhaps he had a lapse in judgment or something ridiculous, she thought to herself. She waited as he checked the hallways, trying not to roll her eyes at the act. When he indicated for her to do so, she left the safety of the classroom, wanting this night to just come to an end with all of the new thoughts that were surfacing in her mind.
