Where Darius was concerned, he liked to think that things were looking up for him. So what if they had met in the most cliche way, ever? Darius didn’t care, they shagged and spent time together and that was something he liked. He enjoyed her company so much so that he constantly sought it. He knew it was a rare find in times like this but may this was meant to be. He didn’t want to ge ahead of himself or he could made a critical mistake and lose it all. It was times like this where he had to switch on his Ravenclaw brain not think with a certain other part of his body. He had to be sensible. While he had moments where he had thought with his heart instead of his head, this was not one of those moments. He wanted to see where this lead. It was going to benefit to two of them, if they stuck tougher.

He was sure that Faith would see it the same way, she had never told him otherwise. He had been able to see her almost every day since their first meeting and that to with his working in the mines. Working there definitely kept his busy and it did exhaust him. He wasn’t sure what working down there was supposed to teach him. Was he meant to learn how to mine without magic or was he supposed to learn the value of working with your hands? Was he meant to learn how work in the dark? If it was the latter, it was pointless as he was a DJ and he had rarely seen daylight during that time. He had grown accustomed to working in a club and he was comfortable.

He missed working in a club terribly. He missed having a steady gig. Sure working in the mines could be thought of as the same but he didn’t see it like that at all. He was happier making people happy. Darius hoped he made Faith happy because she made him happy.

Darius knew it was not worth getting ahead of himself. As he had told himself, he was better using his had in times like this. Darius slipped out of her bed and leant down and kissed the back of her neck before he pulled on his track pants and fixed his head before looking in then mirror and realising it was about time he shaved. It would be one of first things he did when he got home. First he would have to get to work.

But even before he did that, he needed coffee and he figured he would make Faith one to. The wizard made his way into her kitchen and removed some cups from the dish rack and tapped her kettle to boil the water. As he gazed out the window, he heard a noise behind him that sounded like someone shuffling their feet. Turning around he found the owner of the feet.

When Megara felt the sun streaming through her window, she first attempted to block it with a pillow over her head. Waking up was truly hard to do, especially the last couple of years. Meg used to be a morning person, believe it or not. She enjoyed waking up early so that she could spend as much time as possible working. She was able to get up and function after only two hours of sleep once upon a time. She used to like what she did that much. It was the Ravenclaw in her, some would say. She enjoyed researching and learning. But now, her job involved none of the things she enjoyed. She felt degraded. Perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad if she had others to work with, a chance to make friends….but she didn’t even have that.

She had Faith, of course. She greatly enjoyed coming home to her best friend. It made this new life bearable, she supposed. And they weren’t living in Kolna anymore, at least. And with the epidemic spreading like wildfire across the country, it was probably a good thing that she was muggleborn. It definitely made getting by without magic much easier, seeing as how she grew up as a child not even knowing that magic existed. But, it was still heartbreaking. She had worked hard to become a great potioneer and an animagus and it seemed all for naught now.

She accepted them snapping her wand those years ago. She accepted the low voltage conduits they eventually gave the muggleborns as replacement. It didn’t allow her to do spells with the same complexity as before, but she was still able to brew potions just fine. She couldn’t publish her research anymore, as her findings were dismissed as “muggleborn heresy”, but at least she had the answers. Megara was able to accept all of this with the help of Faith and other muggleborns in their predicament.

Meg wasn’t able to accept getting infected quite so easily. The illness was one thing, but losing her ability as an animagus broke her. Megara tried not to dwell on it, finding anything and everything she could to distract herself from the cruel reality. Sometimes it worked, and other times it didn’t. Thoughts were just beginning to spiral when she heard clinking noises coming from the kitchen.

Not thinking that it could be anyone other than Faith, she got out of bed and left her room in nothing but the extra large white t-shirt she wore to bed. The woman was short, so it still came down to around mid-thigh and covered the necessities, not that she worried about that with Faith. But as she turned the corner to enter the kitchen, that was not who she found. Stopping in her tracks, she turned a flushing shade of pink when Darius turned around to look at her. Clearing her throat and crossing her arms over her chest she greeted him with a mumbled “Morning”.

Mornings were made
for coffee and awkwardness

He was sleeping over more and more, and Faith was rather scared to say that it didn't bother her in the least. She loved having Darius around the flat. Him being there meant that she didn't have to worry about a lot of things, he still had his magic. Though his wand could not do as much as others could, he could do more than Faith could even manage. It meant something to her though that he was so protective of her, it hadn't been anything that she had thought that she would ever like, she had been independent for so long, but something about him warmed her heart. He had melted away the stone and all she knew now was that he made her happy.

She knew that she was in danger of falling for him, that she could end this and stop herself from feeling that pain, but she didn't know if she wanted to. The pain might be worth it, worth getting hurt if she had someone like him to care for her. She had been sleeping happily in his arms, which was probably the best sleep that she got, when he was there with her but when he got up she woke slowly.

She rolled over and found that he wasn't there and opened her eyes slowly. She hated waking up like that, reaching for him and him not being there. There was nothing that she could do about it, they didn't live together but a part of her wished he would just stay so she never had to wake up without him. Laying there for a minute she sighed and then got out of bed and braided her hair, slipped on her shorts, and a shirt Darius had left in her room and then headed into the kitchen.

Sleepily she shuffled into the kitchen and hummed to herself as she saw her .... Darius and best friend. "Morning... Did i miss a team meeting?" {/b] She joked before kissing Darius.

Darius held hope as did many muggleborns that all this business of the registration would end soon. There was no way in hell that this held any kind of longevity. THe ministry or any organisation would not be able to keep this going for that much longer. They really wouldn’t want to be the laughing stock of the world by really forcing their muggleborns to do touch pitiful jobs. He liked to think that soon enough their egos would get the better of them, unless there was some outside interventions. Darius just had to remain positive and to also lift up muggleborns around him when their thoughts would turn south. He didn't necessarily want to shoulder all the people around him but he knew that someone had to do it.

At least he was there for someone he cared about deeply. Faith was sacred about this whole scenario even if she hardly said it out loud. But Darius was there for her no matter what she needed. Their relationship was still it’s infancy and he was hoping to to just take it easy. There was no telling what kind of curveball would be thrown at them next. He hoped that the universe held no more surprises for the magical world. Well if they were going to be a surprise, he hoped they were at least a good surprise. But he would have to wait and see.

Spending nights at her place had not become the norm, not yet. He was hyper conscious of making her roommate Meg, feel odd and awkward. At least he still had his magic so he was able to cast the silencing charm. While that was a benefit for all concerned. He had also made himself useful in their flat by cooking some nights of the week and making sure at least they were able to feed themselves. He managed to make ingredients stretch between more than one meal. He did what he could what what they had on hand or what they could get.

He recalled Anthony helping him and he had made a mental note to repay the wizard at some point when he was able to. He just wasn't sure how he would do that but at least he knew he was going to. Anthony may have seen what he did as a small gesture but for Darius it had meant a lot.

When Darius stayed over at Faith and Meg’s place he was conscious of what he did and wore and what he said. But this morning he had forgotten about that. He could blame that on his inability to wake up properly just yer because he knew he needed coffee.

He smiled politely at Meg as she walked in and greeted him. ”Hello morning” he smiled before kissing Faith and rubbing her lower back a little as she came into the kitchen and kissed him. He grabbed the instant coffee and spooned it into both their cups before grabbing another empty cup and glancing at Meg. ”Coffee for you too?”

Megara felt like she would never not be awkward around her roommate’s boy….thing. It was just her natural social state. Luckily, though, it was becoming less and less awkward to have him around. It helped that he was pleasant, and helpful, and it looked as though her friend could eventually harbor some actual feelings for him. *’If she isn’t already’*, she surmised. Meg was happy for the girl…as happy as she was about anything these days. She knew she may not act like it, but she really was.

To be fair she didn’t act much on any emotion these days; she found herself unable to care about most things. Faith had surely noticed the decline in her mood as their time together went on. That was another reason she was glad the other witch had Darius. Surely she had not been the best friend during this time. More often than not she was holed up in her room or out getting a drink somewhere. She was even less fun than before. But despite her shortcomings, Meg knew that there was no love lost between the two of them. It was just a funk and she would shake out of it eventually.

Or so she hoped, because she didn’t like feeling this way. She wanted to be happy, and she wanted others to think that she was as well. That was why she tried her best to not spiral into her thoughts when Darius was over. It was hard for her to decide which would cause the least amount of awkwardness; her obvious avoidance of him or her forced pleasantries. She decided to force herself to get to know him, and quickly found that she didn’t dislike him as much as she thought she would. She was pleasantly surprised with the young man’s demeanor.

She was grateful for all that he had done to help not only her roommate but the both of them. She knew he was one of the reasons they weren’t starving…. or worse. Whether it was via Darius himself or his connections with others.

Having someone in the home with magic was nice, Megara had to admit. It wasn’t difficult to do things without it, especially having been muggleborn, but the time it saved was something she had grown accustomed to.

She glanced away for a second when Faith came out and kissed the man standing in their kitchen, not yet used to their displays of affection. She turned back when he offered her coffee, her shy aloofness forgotten in the moment as she nodded.

She gave Darius the smallest of smiles. ”Yes, please.” She moved to the small table they had, sitting down in a chair and tucking her bare legs underneath her.
