Character History:

From a young age, Ryder has always been one to throw caution to the wind. It was in one of these instances, he discovered that he was different than most kids he knew. One day in a park near his Liverpool home, he decided he was going to jump from the top of the tallest slide, rather than slide down it. His mother hadn't realized what he was doing at first, and she was unable to reach him before he jumped. Fortunately, somehow, he landed on his feet just fine. It was almost as if he, magically floated down.

When he received his Hogwarts letter, it all made sense on how he felt that he was protected in some supernatural way. Upon his arrival, he was sorted into Gryffindor, which was not surprising at all with his tendency to embrace bravery while throwing caution to the wind. While at Hogwarts, he discovered his love for magical creatures. Ryder loved being able to interact with a creature and saw gaining the trust of a different species as a sort of fun challenge. It also helped him work through his parents' divorce. He was able to remain supportive of both parties and spent his time evenly between the two with holiday breaks.

After he graduated Hogwarts, he spent a couple years abroad studying dragons in other lands. It was in this time that he discovered a love for traveling, but didn't want to be on the road 24/7. He came back to England and took a position at the Ministry of Magic that would still allow him to pursue his passion.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? As a muggleborn, Ryder certainly does not agree with letting the death eaters off the hook, and he feels that deserve a harsh punishment. However, he believes the continuous suffering and the conditions the death eater and their families are forced to endure are just inhumane. Ryder thinks the families should be let off the hook as they are innocent, but the death eaters should be in a facility that helps rehabilitate them without torturing them.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? Growing up in the muggle world, Ryder knew nothing of this monster. Voldemort was destroyed before he started Hogwarts, but the things he had done could not easily been forgotten, so naturally Ryder had heard the horror stories. He is grateful that him and his family no longer have to live in fear of someone who believes he is not worthy to be magical.

Family History:

Brent and Tracy met at a college party being held on the campus where they both attended. They both became intoxicated, and their son Noah was the result of their one night stand. However, Brent came from a very conservative family, and therefore, was forced by his parents to marry Tracy, as they threatened to cut off helping him pay for college.

Unfortunately, Tracy had to drop out of college in order to care for their child. She only had one semester left. But she grew to love and depend on Brent as he did go on to graduate college and provide for their family as a nurse.

However, as time went on and another addition was made to the Dawson family, Brent found it hard to work as a nurse and be there for his family. He quit and took a factory job that would not allow him to work such crazy hours. Unfortunately, this made him depressed as he was not doing what he loved and it created a divide between him and Tracy, which ultimately led to their divorce.
