For a man of his age Benjamin has a pretty bangin' bod. He has always been a firm believer in keeping ones self in peek physical condition and boy does he ever. He's quite muscular, though not all that tall standing at only 5'10". "Hey, that's statistically average! Don't call me short, what the-" OK So he's not short, my god. As if his stocky muscular stature wasn't enough to be the slightest bit intimidating, he's got the eyes to add to it. Benjamin has never had lovely eyes or even really interesting eyes. They are dull and brown; they hardly ever change color except to appear even more brown in Autumn somehow. No, it isn't the color that is interesting but rather the way he uses them. His eyes are very expressive, widening with surprise or turning to skeptical slits. He doesn't hide his emotion very well on his face nor does he in any other way really. His eyes are by far the most expressive part of his face but his mouth is a very close second. He's quick to smile when he's enjoying himself, and has the worst times stifling a laugh if something is downright funny when it's not supposed to be. Benjamin has dark brown brows and hair which he keeps styled in a way that toes the line between neat and bedhead. For the most part he dresses rather stylishly, including suits most of the time at work. Outside of work he prefers comfortable clothes that appear neat and not flashy.

Benjamin J. Bates was the middle child born for Dianne and Marcus bates on September 29, 1976. He was their first and only boy sandwiched between two sisters in birth order. If asked he will tell you that his sisters are some of the stronger women he ever knew and growing up with nothing but girls was more of a blessing than a cure, though it felt like a curse at times. Benjamin grew up in a family that was staunchly tolerant of all blood statuses. His Father and Aunt were even members of the early Order of the Phoenix before their disbanding after Voldemort's defeat in 1981. There are scars on his father's body to this day from incidents from back then but the largest is by far hidden away on his heart. Marcus' sister, Benjamin's aunt, lost her life fighting for the Order before the Dark Lord's defeat. It is unfortunately not the only loss the family has suffered as a result of the Death Eater's wars.
In 1987 Benjamin received his acceptance owl into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had a late birthday so, while he was only three years younger than his eldest sister, he remained four grades behind her. His youngest sister had always been four years behind him so as it stood there was never a year in his schooling that he was without a sister or with them both. His time at Hogwarts with his eldest sister Bethany was quite interesting. She had been a seeker for the Hufflepuff team back in her day. Benjamin took very well to watching the game but he had learned in first year flying lessons that he was much better at warming bleachers than benches. His second year at school he joined the Quidditch Enthusiast club and never looked back. He remained a faithful member until the day he graduated.
Fourth year was very special to Benajmin for many reasons. It was the first year he was the eldest Bates in school and he had his younger sister Gemma to look after. It was also the year that The Boy Who Lived began his schooling at Hogwarts. It was a much anticipated event and once he got to school the whole castle was abuzz talking about their new flock of students and the boy within them. That year Harry became the youngest seeker in the last century and, well, Benjamin could only find himself missing the company of his eldest sister. That year he decided to join another club in hopes of keeping himself preoccupied with the loss of his sibling. He joined the Mock Wizengamot and quickly found that he had a passion and knack for Law. Even as young as he was Benjamin knew that it was something he wanted to do as a lifelong career. For as long as he was in Hogwarts he remained a member of Mock Wizengamot, something he remembers quite fondly.
Benjamin had always been a decent student. He worked hard and was driven to succeed, especially with his new goals in mind. His fifth year it became apparent that he was destined for great things when he was selected to be prefect for his house. It was a rather crazy year to receive such duties as left and right it seemed students, and poor Mrs. Norris, were being petrified. It made doing his duty extremely terrifying but he was a Gryffindor wrought with bravery and managed to perform his duties as expected. The next year he was once again made prefect of his house. Again, what a wild ride. Sirius Black had escaped from Azkaban and the dementor attack on young Harry Potter sure riled everyone up. And then what happened to the Fat Lady. It was a difficult time to be a prefect as you can imagine.
The year that Benjamin graduated he was made head boy of his house. The very same year was the twi-wizard tournament which, some way or another, Harry Potter managed to become a part of. Either way Benjamin enjoyed having students from all different schools come to Hogwarts for the games, though it made being head boy tedious work. The games went seemingly well for a while but the sudden loss of Cedric Diggory was difficult on the students, including Benjamin who had grown to see the boy as a friend. At the end of the year Dumbledore announced what had happened to him and what it meant. Lord Voldemort had returned and that was something that shook everyone to their cores. Benjamin's father was quick to rejoin the Order after that, as were many others, and Benjamin himself was included in that. Gemma, too, was conspiring with classmates in her year to assist in any way possible and when the end of her seventh year came so did the final battle in the war.
Benjamin, his father, and youngest sister all fought on the side of the Order during the Battle of Hogwarts. His father sustained some severe injuries, including one to the head that placed him in a comma for nearly one quarter of a year following the battle. That wasn't the worst of his families woes as Benjamin's youngest sister Gemma was killed during the battle. Benjamin sustained a few injuries but nothing to the extent of his family members. His injuries were a minor setback in his schooling at Lufkin, which he had enrolled in immediately following graduation. He was studying Law at Lufkin and for much of his time there was balancing Order duties with his schoolwork. His professors were able to allow him to catch up quickly over the summer months with the short amount of time he had lost due to the battle and the hospitalization that followed it. Benjamin graduated on track from Lufkin in 1999.
A few short months following his graduation Benjamin found an internship with the possibility of hiring through a law firm called Allen & Overy. It was a mixed magic office with both muggle and Wixen law branches and he worked solely with the Wixen branch. He would assist larger partner's within the firm with their cases and it didn't take long before they found that he was rather skilled at what he did. Before he had even been employed one year he had managed to be hired on by the firm and in August of 2005 he was promoted to junior partner within the Wixen branch. Benjamin was the youngest Wizard to ever be made junior partner within the firm, but that was only his great accomplishments. In 2002 he began working a hot streak of cases which lead to him being labeled as one of the leading Wixen lawyers in the UK. He won several awards between the years 2002 and 2005 when he did his best work. He had scored a rather large case with his firm in 2005 and won. It was fantastic publicity for the firm and in 2006 they were given their largest and most prestigious case yet. There was a great deal of media attention with the case from start to finish and Benjamin may have been a bit over-confident in his skills. The case was a loss and the firm fell almost completely flat with clients.
Benjamin had managed to ruin his career with one fowl swoop and in 2007 he lost partnership with the firm. After that he attempted multiple times to gain another partnership elsewhere but no one would hire him. Half the time he was asked to leave the interview before it even began. His face was bad press and no one wanted that. Determined to remain in the Law sector Benjamin re-enrolled himself in schooling but this time through Goshawk Technical College. He took on the paralegal program and graduated with flying colors twenty-four months later. Still, much to his dismay no one wanted to hire him and instead he ended up working a dismal job as an accountant while he, once again, re-enrolled himself in school. His father had always had a saying: "Those who can do and those who can't teach." Benjamin attended Lufkin a second time, this time for Education. He graduated in 2013 from his program at an extremely convenient time.
One of his old Law professors was set to retire a few short months after graduation and he put in a good recommendation for Benjamin. By the end of the year in 2013 he had begun work as a Law Professor at Lufkin University where he has since been teaching. He continues to keep close ties with the Order and is pleased to see progress finally happening after the horrible things the Death Eater's have done during their day in the sun. In the Autumn months of 2018 Benjamin fell ill with Epidemic X and has since been without his magic, though still easily teaching Law now that the University has started its program once again.

Dianne O'Sullivan was born and raised in Ireland. She comes from a rather large family, though she's hardly close with any of them. Many of her family members were purists as she came from a once very long pureblood line, but it has since been mixed with muggle blood and has produced halfbloods for quite a few decades. Still, the sentiment remains with most of her family and she keeps her distance because of her opposing beliefs. Dianne had always believed in acceptance and tolerance, though never enough to join her husband in the Order of The Phoenix. She preferred the safety of keeping out of the wars, especially as she raised her three children. Aside from being a mother she was also a skilled potioneer.
Marcus Bates was born in the London Borough of Redbridge into a family that was very adamant about preaching tolerance about all blood statuses. They had lived through Grindewald's time and wanted to make certain that their children would never follow someone like that ever again. Marcus was one of three children all of whom attended Hogwarts and were sorted into Gryffindor. When the first wizarding war began Marcus and his sister joined the Order. For a great deal of time they worked to help defeat Lord Voldemort and in the process each suffered a great loss. Marcus' sister was killed during the first wizarding war.

Dianne went with a lad and Marcus with a lass to a double date but it became very clear straight away just where the fireworks were going off. They two dated steadily for two years before getting engaged and becoming pregnant with their first child. Three months after Bethany was born the two we were finally wed and proceeded to have two more children before finally calling it quits after Gemma when the first war was building up. They thought it unsafe to bring any more children into the world with the progress the Dark Lord was making and shortly after Gemma was born Marcus' sister was killed.
