+ Charms. She's great at Charms. It was one of her best subjects while she had been at Hogwarts and even while getting homeschooled. Jo also became a master of the Colour Change Charm... mostly because she liked to change up her hair.
+ Herbology, gardening. Jo likes plants and she's pretty handy at taking care of them. It's one of her relaxing hobbies, too, and definitely comes in handy when it comes to healing.
+ Transfiguration. Yet again, one of her better classes. Jo understood this quite well and would have likely done great in Alchemy if she wasn't so rubbish at Potions...
+ Ancient Runes. Used to learning a diversity of languages from a young age, picking up on Runic was like second nature for Jóhanna. She has the skillset to understand the symbols and the magic behind them.
+ Languages. Speaking of, she speaks a lot of languages. Although she was born in London, both Icelandic and English are her native tongues. She's also very good at Norwegian and Swedish, and well on her way to learning Finnish and Faroese.
+ Staying active. Jo loves to run. She's an athletic person and can't really sit still. If she's not in class or studying, she's out for a run. She's also really great at hiking, skiing, and ice climbing.
+ Music. Jo has been playing the violin since she was three years old and the guitar since she was six. Reading and writing music is like a language to her, basically a mother tongue, and she feels very natural in a concert hall.

- Potions, unfortunately, but she tries really hard. They just didn't click with her while she was at Hogwarts and it did take her some more time to pick up on it even while homeschooled. She's getting better, but potion-making is not a strong suit for Jo.

Descending from the very first Viking settles that came to Iceland, the Svínfellingar Clan was formed by noble wizards and witches who wished to leave their past in Norway behind - much like happened with other Icelandic Wizarding Clans. Since the division between wizards and muggles was rather murky in the pagan Nordic regions, the presence of wizards in this expedition wasn't a surprise. Others also joined the venture and formed the Icelandic Wizarding community - surprisingly big considering the size of the country and general muggle population. The Svínfellingar clan, in particular, rose to power in both the wizard and muggle worlds during the Sturlung Era. They held power in the entire Eastern Region of Iceland and their homestead in Öræfasveit - called Svínafell - was a hub for magical trade in mid-13th century.
When Iceland and Norway were united by the Covenant, the wizarding clans agreed to withdraw completely from the muggle world and its politics. Since things had already been dangerous since the kristnitaka or taking of Christianity in the 11th century, it wasn't a hard decision to make. As one of the families who kept most of their power and wealth after the bloody conflicts in the Sturlung Era, the Svínfellingar Clan assumed the leadership in this newly-formed purely wizarding community. The control of Iceland is passed to the oldest child in their line, be them male or female. The choice between a mother's of a father's name depends on who comes from the most powerful line and also depends on magical prowess. The founder of their family was Flosi Björnsson - direct descendent of Ragnar Loðbrók, the famous Viking warrior of the 9th century through his muggleborn sister Sigyn Sigurðardóttir. Ironically, the clan would often intermarry with the wizard side of the Ásbirningar clan of Skagafjörður, who descended of Sigurd "Snake-in-the-Eye" Ragnarsson, Ragnar Loðbrók's son and therefore Sigyn's nephew.
Jóhann Fenrirsson, Jóhanna's great-great-grandfather, was the Squib brother of Freyja Fenrirsdóttir and Fenrir Fenrirsson. Although still welcomed into the family, Jóhann fell in love with a muggle and had no choice but to leave the clan. Eventually, Jóhann's grandson moved to England with his small family and they settled down in London. Ari Lúdvíksson, by mostly sheer coincidence, met a young medical resident by the name of Erna Pallsdóttir while he was working at a hospital in London one time. They started dating and eventually married, having only one child: Jóhanna. Both of them Icelandic, the couple decided to stick to the patronymic traditions they had grown up with.
