WRITING CHALLENGE #5
We've had a bit of a break from our writing challenges so far this year, but it is definitely time for us to start of 2019 with our first writing challenge! Spring means that it is nearly time for spring, and with spring comes the idea of new beginnings or a rebirth. Here are two quotes to get your mind started! See what you can do with them! Remember you can enter with any character, and each entry gets you one sickle! So get started! We never have as good of a turnout for our writing challenges than our dev challenges, so let's change that this year!

Trust the magic of new beginnings.

Never Sure
With all that was going on, it was becoming hard to decipher what was the right and was wrong. Claude knew it was important to focus on his own state of mind and his own situation but then again you had to be sure you know who were you and what your purpose was. Given his job, he understood what his purpose was, it was pretty straight-forward given his job title as well the actions he undertook and what the policies were he had to endure. But now in this new world and with the new season upon them. He had to be sure what was going before he started to dive in headfirst. That was the mistake he didn’t want to make. He just had to trust. He had to trust the magic of new beginnings. But while he had been reckless and done some stupid things in his youth. He had matured and with that brought uncertainty It was funny how that wasn’t present when you were 13 or 14 but through his experiences, he had seen things that changed his perception.

Working where he did, he knew that people saw them as having some power over others and to some extent that was true but he was more about that. He knew what roles the muggle police filled and he was sure that along the way he would have to break the news to someone that hey had lost someone close them. He was glad that it hadn’t occurred until now. He wasn’t prepared to do that. But knew for that other person, it would allow them to be open to the next stage in their lives.

It rang the same for Claude too at least when it came to his personal life. He knew that his friends had made many jokes about his lifestyle of sleeping around and drinking but maybe it was time for him to cut back on it and take a new approach but he had to be prepared to make some changes in his life and for Claude that was a daunting step in itself.

Starting something knew always brought about uncertainty. He had already experienced that when he had begun Auror training and he knew also from his studies in History that many people had trusted something big and it had worked out well for them or it had been the catalyst moment for them. A moment for them to take that next step.

Claude was simply going to have to trust this next phase as well as look back at where he had come from. It had been some adventure getting to where he was and he owed it to many people as the changed progressed and he inched closer and closer to it, he had to be it was just magic at work

keep your eyes on me
when it hurts too much to see
keep your eyes on me

Starting over was never something easy. It was never going to be easy. And Andromeda didn’t think that she could ever really trust it. There was a part of her that was always going to be tied to the past. There was a part of her that was sure that she had to live this life in the moment. It was a crazy, and dangerous world. They were living in times that couldn’t be explained. Times when she couldn’t do much of anything but hope. And pray…

It was the pray thing that struck a chord. Because she didn’t really think that there was anyone to pray too. She was a doctor, she couldn’t have a blind faith. But she also didn’t believe that this was just it. She didn’t believe that there was nothing else. Nothing after… There was something. There had to be something more. Or else, why were they here? There was some grand design, and there was someone, somewhere, pulling the strings.

The universe itself. Or a god. Or an entire mountain full of deities that had been nearly forgotten in time… She didn’t know. And she didn’t want to know. But she did know that this was the new beginning. This was her new beginning. And she couldn’t help but think that everything happened for a reason. That she was supposed to be here. She was supposed to be in this castle, tucking these two tiny humans into bed each night. Something had aligned to get them all here.

To get these two little boys that she loved more than anything, to her. She was their mother. And they were her world.

The man down the hall meant the world to her as well. And it was impossible to tell where one world ended and the other began. This was her family. These men, in this castle. This was her world. And Andromeda knew that she could do this, that she could figure out a way to take care of them. Because she had to. She had to figure out how to take care of all of them. Magic, or no magic. They were going into the future with even more unknowns than they had had before. And still, she was ready.

For the first time in a long time, Andromeda thought that she could handle whatever was going to come her way. She thought that she could handle the uncertainty of tomorrow. She could handle the not knowing, and she could handle the terrifying reality that they may never know. Because for the first time in a long time, she had some hope again. There was a light at the end of this tunnel. They were going to figure it out.

Tucking first Arcturus, and then Roarke into their beds she kissed them both on the head and clicked the baby monitor on where it sat on the dresser. She waited until both sets of eyes closed. The grey pair that looked so much like Rodolphus’s and the blue eyes that reflected the woman that they would have to tell him about one day. A whispered, “I love you…” and she closed the door behind her as quietly as she could before she headed down the hall.

He was downstairs, or he had been earlier when she had come to bring the boys upstairs for their baths. That had been nearly an hour ago now, but she figured that was still where he’d be. Pulling the pins from her hair, where she had pulled it up out of her way to bathe two squirming boys, she headed for his study.

Knocking lightly on the open door frame, there was a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips as she waited for him to look up at her. Pulling his attention away from whatever he was working on could be a challenge, if he was absorbed enough in it, but she thought that she could manage. And when his eyes finally lifted to find hers, her smirk grew just a little bit, “Busy?”
