@alek
Well as much as Ophelia had planned on having a quiet night to herself, that had not eventuated given that a certain wizard had come by her falt. She was no stranger to his charm or his moves but yet it appeared their night was heading in much the same direction as the first time they had met. So what if she had slept with him again? She had an aversion to sleeping around and she had found herself waking up to him again. But it seemed she had woken up before him this time. She wasn’t going to boast about that but maybe she had been freaked out waking up to the same bloke again. It had been some while since she had done that. She didn’t know if this was going to be recurring or not. They had not even been on a date yet. Well, they had been on the blind date but that was not something she counted really. It had to be a date that either of them had initiated for it to count with her.

She had no idea if Alek had seen their first date as a proper date or not. Honestly, they had never discussed it before and maybe it was something that they would discuss. Sure, they talked about work and dinner before things started to heat up but they had not gone beyond that. She tried not to focus on that too much because it was evident to her that something was going between her and it was freaking her out. She honestly wasn’t ready to be dating him or anyone yet. Alek was a good bloke and he could satisfy her but she wasn’t up to letting anyone in yet.

Ophelia knew she had to be mature in how she approached her next relationship but maybe that approach was also causing her to delay her relationship too. She honestly didn’t want to end up lonely. If her mother was still alive today she could almost imagine what she would be saying to her. At times Ophelia forced herself to remember what her voice sounded like because she didn’t want to forget it. But it had been well over twenty years since she had heard her mother talk to her and she was worried she would forget what she sounded like.

Letting all these thoughts run through her mind was making her freak out a little. It was the weekend, she was supposed to relax but first, she had to get out of her bed first. She sat up and swung her legs over the side and picked up her underwear and got dressed. Next, she picked up a singlet she thought was hers only to find it belonged to Alek, it was bigger but it was harder to make that out when you were first waking up. Thinking just to go with it, she went into her bathroom and washed her face before heading into her kitchen and beginning to prepare coffee for both of them as quietly as she could.

be who you ate
in the light or the dark

There was no plan here, no game that he was playing, no set of rules that he was trying to follow or anything. If he was being honest with himself, he was breaking his rules, every single one of them. This was a repeat, a girl that did not fit the parameters of what he usually went after. Ophelia was no broken doll full of issues that he could exploit. He wasn’t trying to make himself feel better or avoid being alone during a hard time of year or anything. She wasn’t a girl that he just wanted to be with because his Father and Step-Mother would approve of. He had come here because he could not get the witch off of his mind and he was not sure that he wanted to. She was beautiful and smart and something about her made him want to know more, to get to see another side of her, and somehow he had ended up in her bed again.

He never slept well, something that his therapist told him had a lot to do with his subconscious and a need to be loved. He would never tell anyone this, he would never admit to anyone the deficiency that he had, why damage the perfect image that he tried to put out. He was no pureblood, hell he was not as close as other half bloods that he knew to being a pureblood than he was but Alek didn’t care, he never put much thought into blood purity. Money, wealth, fame, blood status; none of that made anyone any better than anyone else. No matter what nothing made anyone any better or any worse than anyone else.

He tried to pretend that those things did not bother him. He tried to act like none of it mattered to him, but it hurt him to see friends hurt by it, to see those that he cared about suffering; but such was life, was it not? You had to watch those that you love hurt and suffer. He wanted something good for his life, and he didn’t want to look back in twenty years and wonder what might have been. So he had taken the leap and had gone to Ophelia’s. They had had a good time, but as he rolled and stretched, reaching for her the tall man frowned when he didn’t find her there.

He sat up and scrubbed a hand over his face and then through his hair as he looked around the room, attempting to get his bearings. Hearing someone in the other room he got up and pulled on his boxers and and pants before he started looking for his singlet. Not finding it anywhere he walked into the kitchen where he heard movement. Seeing her, wearing the missing singlet, Alek smiled and came up behind her and rubbed her back before smiling at her. ”Morning beautiful.”

Ophelia had always considered herself smart but she wasn’t sure that having Alek in her bed again had been the best idea. Sure, he had made her feel amazing but past that she didn’t want to stuff up whatever was going on between them. She had not purposely stayed away from the Griffin. She knew very well that he had invited her there and she was going to go there, just when she got the chance. She wasn’t making excuses even if it appeared like that. But she just hadn’t found the right time to go there and visit the bar and see him.

She would never admit it and she never wanted to appear vulnerable. But during their blind date, Ophelia had felt a connection. It may have been fleeting but she wasn’t sure at first but later, long after he had left her place after they had slept together and after she had sat down a few nights later with a glass of wine in hand. She had thought about it. She knew she was not going to be able to stop thinking about it and maybe her staying away from the Griffin had just been strategic on her part. But she was an adult, she shouldn’t be so scared to go and see him and to visit him.

But it had matter it seemed as he had turned up at her door. When she had first seen him, Ophelia hadn’t been sure how to react. She had been surprised sure but was she happy to see him, of course she was. Even if she had planned to have a quiet night. She was adaptable and was welcome to having company. It had been a pleasant night but the way it had finished up had definitely been more memorable. She wondered if the two of them were going to make it a habit. But she would see how the morning actually went before making that assessment.

Overall, she wasn’t one to make assumptions but she had been through a lot at school which was thanks to her cousin. Bradley had definitely known all the right buttons to push when it came to the witch. She tried as hard as possible to not let it bother her but at times she felt like she didn’t have the tools to deal with the kind of torment. It really had been at the level she would call it torment. Ophelia was not one to harp on the old family issues but she knew she needed to get over them if she was going to be happy. She was going to see if Alek was that happiness or not

Right now her primary objective was to prepare a drink for the two of them to both wake-up. She hadn't thought to wake him and figured that he would get up soon enough. Not long after she had started to prepare their drinks did she feel her behind. Turning around she smiled up at him. ” Morning to you too….how did you sleep?” she asked as she moved to lean back against one of her under bench kitchen cupboards.

Life was often not kind to people. It could mess with your head and your heart, but then there were times when it could give you a blessing and it gave you the choice. To take this gift that it was giving you or keep living your life the way that you were before. Alek was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth or ignore the signs that he was seeing so he was reaching for whatever this was, with both hands. He liked Ophelia. She was beautiful and she was funny and so smart. She was everything that he had wanted and more and he had been this lucky to meet her like this. Maybe this could be his chance for the life that he had wanted before, but there was still a lot to say and do. He had known her for just over two weeks, so he wasn't going to jump the gun and propose or anything stupid, but he knew that he wanted to get to know her more. It was just something that he felt needed to happen. Them getting to know one another.

She hadn't come to he Griffin and that had bothered him and it was likely more than it should, but it wasn't like he put all that much thought into it. He wanted a future, he wanted a life, and he wanted to not worry about what was coming the next day. So he didn't. He didn't give things a second thought, and he tried to not stress about the small things like where this was going. What happened happened, why worry about it now? He took the coffee from her and leaned against the counter across from her.

"I slept great, thanks. I would try and use the line that I need a new bed, but I know it's not that at all. " He gave a smirk and a snort. He liked to have someone beside him and slept better that way, but it wasn't often he had that or allowed it. Especially with his nose ass flatmates. "And you?"
