It can be hard to get a good look at Kyler because he never stops moving. Always fidgeting, shimmying, or dancing around-- the boy never really stops. In the few instances that he does remain still it can be seen that he is of standard height. Most would agree that he stands at roughly 5'11" but he is actually a bit taller than that, only given a shrunken appearance because of his slouching stature. Kyler has always been a thin sort of stocky. Since registration he's gotten a bit thinner but it can often be hard to tell because of the looser clothes he tends to wear. Skinny jeans and loose fitting tops, hoodies, and jackets are what tend to make up his wardrobe and a great deal of what he wears is black. His hair is black as well giving his skin an even paler look than it really is. Despite the generally dark attire Kyler appears very bright in spirit. He is always smiling and anyone would be able to tell you that as far as smiles go his is always the biggest! Kyler has pale green eyes and expressive brows to frame them. As far as bodily modifications go Kyler has none, but it is typical to see him with some sort of ink on his arm or polish on his nails. He uses his body as a canvas and he prefers the option of being able to change it daily and depending on his moods so everything he puts on it is temporary and could be different by tomorrow.

Graphic Design - In 5th year he got detention for putting up photoshopped motivational posters of Headmistress McGonagall riding a narwhal and reading a Jane Austin novel with the words "Reading Cures Mugwarts, Stay In Hogwarts"...so it's clear to say that he's been interested in the art quite a long time. And he's actually got a great eye for it!
Art - Not only is Kyler skilled in the graphic arts, but pretty much all other art forms as well! Whatever he tries he typically does well in. He is very creative!But he can't spin a vase to save his soul
Singing - Yet another art form, we know, we know-- but it must be said that Kyler can sing very well! And he tends to sing his words a lot when he speaks, so likely everyone who has ever heard him talk has heard him sing something!

Lying - Kyler can't lie. He is the worst liar. No poker face here. None. Nadda. He does try to lie sometimes because he really does hate to hurt people's feelings, so he will try to be a polite liar but he just....he sucks. There's no nice way to put it.
Broken People - His mum and his aunt are both social workers and it has given him the strange addiction they both posses called: give me your broken people and let me love/fix them. He is a sucker for people who have cracked hearts and dark pasts.
His Family - With how registration has been he has kept his distance from them, hoping to keep them safe, and he has even tried on his Lying Suit to try and make them feel better about the whole thing. He loves his family and only wants the best for them and their happiness even at his own expense.

In Kolna he didn't have medication to help regulate him so he basically chugged energy drinks to mellow himself out. Now he's kind of addicted to energy drinks....and is still off his meds. Woops.

Kyler was born in April of 1999 to a typical muggle family. His mother and father never had magic growing up but his mother's step-father and half-sister did so the magical world was never fully a secret to his family. Kyler and his two younger siblings grew up along side their cousins, having a close connection with their Aunt, and they knew that it was a possibility that one day their cousins might enter into a magical world the likes of which they would never know. However when Kyler began experiencing bouts of accidental magic around the age of nine it became clear that he too would enter into the wizarding world one day. Having family so close that could help him with his magic was a great help in making him feel confident in his abilities, something that many muggleborns he came across did not have when he entered into his first year at Hogwarts.
The young wizard went on to Hogwarts years ahead of his cousin Delia, but they were ultimately sorted into the same house. Kyler had heard of the houses, specifically that of Ravenclaw which had been his Aunt's house, but he was sorted into Gryffindor. His Aunt was his guiding light for the first few years that he was attending Hogwarts and the two wrote each other weekly and became extremely close. Over the summers Kyler would often spend a lot of time with his cousin Delia and Aunt Monica in order to keep connected to the world he was being immersed in every school year. It was through his Aunt Monica that he met his friend Jesse MacDermid who would become almost like family to him-- the same was seemingly true for both his Aunt and Cousin. The two became very close when Jesse followed him to Hogwarts his second year and was sorted into the same house.
One thing that Kyler had that Jesse simply didn't was a supportive family. No matter what he did in life his family was always there to cheer him on and encourage him, even if it included things they could not understand. It was hard for Kyler to connect with his immediate family on matters of magic, but he found other hobbies that brought him close to them. His Step-Father was a graphic designer and Kyler fell in love with the content that he learned from him. In truth Kyler was interested in a great deal of arts, likely something he picked up from his mother who ran multiple art galleries in his youth. His third year at Hogwarts Kyler decided to join in two clubs that piqued his interest in the arts: choir and art club. It gave him a creative outlet and something to connect with his family back home.
Things began growing tense within the castle his sixth year when a fireball ripped through the Great Hall and injured students. Kyler wasn't sure what to make of it. That year he became more engrossed with his art than ever before taking out his emotions on canvas, himself, pottery--whatever he could get his hands on. It helped him to concentrate his fears and negative emotions in one place and he managed to make it through without letting the hostile vibe of the wizarding world bring him down. His seventh year things grew immensely worse as the Death Eaters took over the Ministry. Muggle Studies was stricken from the curriculum and Dark Arts was implemented. No amount of art could help to cope with the feeling on impending doom that loomed in the castle walls.
As his seventh year was nearly at it's end the Ministry announced that Muggleborn Registration was going into effect and Kyler was one of the first to turn himself over within the castle. He missed completing his NEWTs and instead spent the rest of the year housed in the Kolna complex. He was given a job by the Ministry and fell into survival mode. If it had not been for his cousin Delia providing him with supplies to continue his art he would have likely gone fully insane. His time in Kolna was extremely difficult despite his work being less difficult than many other jobs. Kyler was taken off his medication for his ADHD and found that coping without it was extremely difficult. He began taking measures to self medicate, mostly through use of energy drinks or caffeinated beverages that he would sneak from the groceries he would deliver.
For the first time in his life Kyler felt as though he had no control and even using art as an escape was hard. In May of 2018 he was happy to hear that he was finally able to be free from Kolna. Not wanting to burden his Aunt's already full house Kyler and a few of his mates went in on an flat together that they could afford with their stipend. He continued working his assigned job while meeting regularly with his Auror until the very beginning of 2019. Desiree Gillies was born to muggle parents, though she never really knew who her father was. In truth she didn't think that her mother knew either. Her mother raised her on her own for the first two years of her life until she met the man that would become her husband. The man Desiree knew as her step-father adopted her, changing her last name to his: Thorton. Her step-father was halfblooded and she was aware of his magical background, though she never truly knew what any of it meant until her sister Monica was born. She was her half-sister, technically, but she loved her as she would have if she had been wholly her sibling. As the two grew up together they were very close until the day came that an owl came with a letter that would separate them. Monica was invited to Hogwarts and for the first time in her life Desiree understood that she was not the same as her sister or step-father. Being separated from her sister was difficult for Desiree at first but she began to find her own path through art. After graduation she decided to pursue art as a career and got a degree in art history through a local University. Desiree began working at an art gallery eventually working her way up to a curating position. Since then she has curated a multitude of different art galleries.

His mother always seemed quite proud to tell the story of how they were distantly related to a witch once burned at the stake in the UK centuries back. She was a woman obsessed with the metaphysical and even operated her own shoppe in London. Both his parents were into quite strange things, but they were both very creative. It came as no surprise that Holden himself was quite artistic and creative. His craft bloomed when he began taking computer classes in school. He became close with his computer science professor and began learning coding, programming, and graphic design. Holden fell in love with graphic design and went on to obtain multiple degrees in the field after graduation. After working a series of mundane IT jobs he finally found the perfect career working as a graphic designer for a prestigious company in the UK.
The story of the McGrath's love is a tale as old as time. Two strangers, somehow destined by fate, to meet in the same damn tea shop.
