Everything Comes With a Price
And I want to use that to my advantage.
For the majority of his fifth year, Karel had been thinking ahead about what he wanted to do in his future and by default what internship to do to help him achieve that. It had been difficult though, nothing really suited him and what could, usually meant he'd have to associate himself with mudblood's and blood traitors, something he didn't dare want to bring himself to do, why would he want to associate himself with people like that? He didn't understand how his mother or uncle did it. If anyone he believed to be below him even looked at him, they received a look of pure distaste.

It wasn't too bad at Hogwarts after the Mudbloods had been taken things had been much easier and Karel had quickly learnt that the blood traitors were normally the parents of students, something he could ignore and 'forgive' if they had something he really wanted. Even though he was doing well at school, he'd learnt many secrets and acquired a couple of rare items, he knew that he finally needed to expand so that he could continue his business and expand his clientele outside of school and that was why after a few conversations with his mother and Uncle Nikolaj, he'd decided to arrange a meeting with Lucius Malfoy.

Karel had met the Malfoy patriarch on a handful of occasions and he was well known among people like his parents and Purebloods, although after the disastrous second wizarding war, he did lose some renown and prestige but Karel had been taught that the older wizard still had respect and that he was to treat him appropriately. Putting all that aside, Lucius Malfoy was rich and he seemed to have the charisma to have people who would discuss business with him and what better person to teach him more than that?

Of course, there was also the situation surrounding Rodolphus Lestrange. His mother had spoken to him recently about how Karel needed a proper male role model and teacher in his life and whilst he could understand and to some extent agreed, he wasn't quite sure how he felt about Rodolphus. He didn't like the close alliance he and his mother and struck up, and his protectiveness over his mother made him think that the wizard wanted more but he'd agreed to spend some time and get to know the wizard, should he decide that he wanted to spend some time with Karel. He was seriously lacking in authoritative figures and who better than the husband of the Minister for Magic and the man who had brought the Death Eaters back to their former glory? Admittedly, things weren't quite going well in that situation but it was still respectable enough, especially for someone like Karel who enjoyed watching the changes in their world from afar.

The wizard had arrived much earlier than their arranged meeting and had taken a brief moment to exchange small talk with his Uncle as the wizard guided Karel to the Head of Departments office. He'd stood by patiently as the Lucius and Nikolaj had exchanged a few hushed words before his uncle had quickly dismissed himself, leaving Karel alone with the Malfoy. Karel took a few steps closer to the older mans desk and dipped his head respectfully, "Lord Malfoy, I appreciate you making time to see me." Karel continued politely, resting his hand on the back of a chair and waiting to be invited to sit.
