A night out was rare for Hazel and Zeke and so when her parents had insisted that they take Lorcan for the night, the young couple had been very hesitant for the night. Of course, they trusted Marie and Anthony but both were attached to the baby boy. Hazel knew it was going to be harder for her boyfriend than for her. His son had been born early and it was a miracle that he had had very few complications. Hazel was glad that her stepson was much better now. He was a cheery little bub and she adored him and wanted the very best for him.
She knew she could never be the same as Teulia and she understood that one day he would learn what happened to his mother, she hoped for Zeke’s sake that the news was received well. Hazel never wanted to replace the late witch, she had had so much of her life ahead of her before she had been taken. She would try her hardest to look after Lorcan as well as being there for Zeke.
She was happy they had rekindled their relationship. She honestly thought there was no one else for her but him. She had tried to date during their break but it had never been the same. Maybe it was because the wizard had known her for so many years and they both cared for Lorcan and wanted to protect him.
She knew that Zeke would be checking his phone every five minutes tonight as they made their way to the club and for the most part she didn’t bother stopping him but once they got inside she had threatened him that if he looked at his phone one more time she would stuff it into her purse. Her parents had promised to let them know if there were any issues but there were none so far, thank Merlin.
She had enjoyed getting dressed up, it made for a nice change from sweats or wearing Zeke’s t-shirts and she considered it a bonus that she had the night off. Zeke also scrubbed nicely but then again, she always thought he was a looker.
Two drinks into their night, Zeke had excused himself to go to the bathroom, he kissed her cheek and walked off in the direction of the men’s room. Hazel felt a buzz from her purse and checked her phone first and chuckled at seeing a photo from her mum or her dad with Lorcan on his lap reading him a book. It was a sweet photo. Hazel then heard someone beside her ordering a drink but it wasn’t Zeke’s voice. Looking up she smiled at the new arrival.
