@ruby
Caleb knew he ought to just bite the bullet and go and see Ruby. He had to go see the girls too. He knew they would be growing up so fast and he was hoping in the time away he had not missed too much but he knew he had. Babies grew quickly. Caleb knew that it was about time he went and visited them and at least, saw where Ruby lived now. He just hoped if Walker was home that he was welcome. He wasn’t sure what made him so scared of the bloke or of confrontations in general but he knew that was why he had been sorted into Hufflepuff all those years ago.
Caleb knew he had to get over it but it was easier when the people saying it had their lives sorted out and it looked so rosy for them. It wasn’t that way for Caleb. He made the best of it. At least there were some things looking up for the wizard now. He had a better place to live for one and he was free. He had always under appreciated his freedom before but never again.
It was about time he took pride in who he was. He was a muggleborn, a young wizard who the privilege of knowing how to live in both worlds and he didn't need to read manuals with mobile phones or computers like some purebloods would have had to with losing their magic, Caleb was already well-versed in that technology.
Ruby and Lyra had always been supportive of him and Lyra knew about being a muggleborn as well. Sure, she had since become a werewolf but she had entered the magical world as a muggleborn. Caleb had always been there to protect both witches no matter where their relationship stood. He had seen them both grow up to become confident young woman and watched their lives change so dramatically but he knew that both witches had adapted to their new lives.
Ruby was going to be a wonderful mum, she had so much love to give. He had seen her with Hazel’s younger siblings and she was so motherly, she would do an awesome job with her own children. He was the one who needed his head checked he thought. He had been a poor and self-centred best friend. But he was done acting like that, he had to be there for both witches.
Caleb had made sure Archer was all set to go and he had packed a few owl treats for him. He hoped that he didn’t need to use them and that seeing Ruby, the babies and Pulsar would be enough for him to be in a good mood. Caleb had also gotten a few things to Ruby and Iris and Violet. There weren’t much to make up for his time away from them and to visiting them but he hoped it went someway to them being on good terms.
He left his flat in London and apparated to where the redhead lived now. It looked like a lovely area and somewhere nice to bring up children. Caleb made his way to the front yard and smiled at the house before him as he felt his owl who was seated on his shoulder nuzzle against his cheek. ”Me too, buddy” He walked up to the front door and knocked. He smiled as Ruby opened the door. ”Good afternoon” He would have said more but had been distracted but Archer jumping from his shoulder to the ground and walking over to Ruby and wrapping his wings around her ankle which she would recognised was one of his forms of a hug. Caleb looked back up at her and smiled before holding out the bag to her. ”For the four of you, there’s some sweets for the adults and some toys for the girls”
