[attr="class","cbody"]It had been a strange month, there was no doubt about that. When she had kicked her husband out of the house, she had not known for sure that she was ever going to let him back in again. After everything that had happened, a part of her was quite certain that she never would. How was she meant to get past what he had done? To look at him the same way as she had before? How was she supposed to continue to raise her children with a man that could do what he’d done? Titania had wanted to protect their kids, wanted to keep them safe from all of this, and kicking him out of the house had been the only thing that she could think to do. She had to keep them safe. She had to figure out what she was going to do.
[break][break]
The longer that he’d been gone, the easier it was for her to convince herself that she had done the right thing. It was easy to convince herself that she didn’t miss him, that she could live without him, and she had started dating when she had because it had felt nice to have someone look at her that way again. It had been nice to feel like someone was attracted to her or had any interest in her at all. It had felt like Art’s only interest had been his secret little mission with his twin, and once the epidemic had been released, it had been hard to be around him for an entirely different reason.
[break][break]
It had not been easy for the kids, she knew that. Their father had been kicked out, seemingly without a single reason. Months had passed with them getting no more information on what was going on or why their parents had separated. But she had thought that it had gotten a little easier with time. Hopefully, anyhow.
[break][break]
But then he had shown up in their kitchen, and everything had gotten a lot more complicated after that. Titania had not meant for it to end the way that it did. She had been upset with him, and he had honestly been a downright jackass to her, and it had still ended up with them in bed together. She wouldn’t have honestly thought that it would lead to anything more than that. After all, nothing had changed. What he’d done, what she thought about it… there was no changing that. There was no changing his relationship with Wendy, and how toxic she felt like it was. Nothing had changed, even after spending the night together.
[break][break]
Vivien coming home the way that she had—that had been what had changed everything. It had made Art mad, it had upset him, and he had decided that he was moving back in. Titania knew that she could have said no, could have physically pushed him out of the house if that was what she really wanted to do. But a part of her had missed him. Had liked seeing him care so much about his family, about something other than the epidemic, even if it was their oldest daughter dressing like a street walker.
[break][break]
Now they had to adjust to their father being back in the house, though, and she thought that might prove difficult too. It had been almost a month, and how they were doing definitely mattered to her. Olivette and Vivien particularly, since they were the ones old enough to understand. It was something that she was worried about, but she was doing her best not to think about it all of the time. This morning, she had woken up earlier than usual, and had started the day off with a run.
[break][break]
Her morning was relatively free, so when she got home, she decided that she’d start breakfast for whomever happened to get up first. It was too quiet, so she turned the radio onto the news as she started to put together pancake batter.
