General Appearance: George stands at about 5'11 with brown eyes and red hair though it has faded a bit as he has grown older. He has a spring in his step and a crooked smile that graces his face almost constantly. While he had always been a bit lanky in his younger years he has filled out giving him more of a medium build.

Weaknesses: An opportunity to prank at the most inappropriate times. He is known to go a bit overboard with it even though he is closing in on 40.

Character History:

George was born April 1st, 1978 to Arthur and Molly Weasley. He is one out of a set of twins and the 4th oldest of seven children. It was quite the amusing coincidence that George and his late brother Fred were born on April Fools as it seemed that pranking would become a lucrative profession for them. It was not uncommon to hear loud explosions and other strange sounds coming from George’s room as a young child. He took great pleasure in tormenting his siblings with all kinds of pranks including dung bombs when other relatives were about. It wasn’t a surprise that his first year of Hogwarts he was well liked and made several close friends with his unending humor and shenanigans. He earned quite the mischevious reputation even knicking the Marauders Map from Argus Filch that first year. In his second year he made the Gryffindor quidditch team as a beater along with his twin Fred. They were said to be legendary on the pitch and that they were naturals. Though it is rarely spoken of it is rumored that George actually had impressive marks when it came to his academics in his earlier years.

In his third year his younger brother Ron began his first year as well as Harry Potter who would become a big part of their already large family. The summer before fourth year George, along with his brothers Ron and Fred, sneaked out of the burrow and used an enchanted car their father had been fussing with to go rescue Harry from his terrible muggle relatives. Of course he got a rather severe scolding from his mother for doing so though she had seemed to just be thankful that they were okay as well as Harry. That same year the Chamber of Secrets was reopened and his younger sister, Ginny, was imprisoned within the chamber. It had caused George a great deal of stress though he kept up with his pranking and humor. He never once even thought that Harry had anything to do with the Chamber.

It was the summer before his fifth year that he, his family, Harry, and Hermione attended the Quidditch World Cup. It was at this game that a riot broke out full of Death Eaters burning down tents and attacking anyone in their path. This was also the year he bestowed their prized possession, the Marauders Map, to Harry, and started testing out prank products they had been working on for a couple of years like the famous ton-tongue toffee.

The following few years would be a rollercoaster of epic proportions for George and his family. George’s sixth year included the Triwizard Tournament which brought in a new frightening age of the return of Voldemort. While Harry had still received prize money for winning the tournament, even with a classmate’s untimely death, Harry have the money to George and his late twin Fred to get their joke shop started. In the summer of 1995 the Order of the Phoenix reunited, making its headquarters 12 Grimmauld Place where members as well as the Weasley family spent the summer. That following year the Minister placed Dolores Umbridge into the school as the High Inquisitor. As she had started the Inquisitorial Squad to aid her in her Ministry agenda, George as well as quite a few others began training themselves to fight if necessary and called themselves Dumbledore’s Army. That Christmas George’s father was attacked by Nagini, Voldemort’s snake, causing even more alarm in the family. It was that same year that Dumbledore’s Army was found out. George along with his twin Fred wreaked havoc around the school setting off fireworks, dungbombs, and even a portable swamp before leaving the castle on their brooms deciding that they were better off away from there.

In 1996 George and Fred launched their prank products doing mostly mail-orders, but soon after bought an old storefront in Diagon Alley. Their shop was a hit and while his parents initially were very upset about him not finishing his education they were surprised and proud to see how well the twins were doing. The twins had even started a line specifically for Defense Against the Dark Arts that included various objects enchanted with shielding charms. When he became of age he joined the Order of the Phoenix to actively start fighting against the chaos breaking out everywhere as Death Eaters were on the rise and the Dark Lord was hell bent on getting his hands on Harry. He participated in the Battle of the Seven Potters, taking a polyjuice potion to look like harry along with six others. During the battle George was hit by a sectumseprum spell that severed his ear though he bounced back quickly.

In August of 1997 George’s older brother Bill married Fleur Delacour in a big celebration at the burrow. What was supposed to be a happy day turned into a nightmare as Death Eaters swarmed in during the reception, firing hexes left and right. George and his family took up refuge with the rest of the Order at 12 Grimmauld Place after the event. In 1998 everything finally came to a head and the family returned to Hogwarts to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts. He and his twin Fred were to guard a secret passageway that led outside of Hogwarts. They were attacked, and while they fought hard George’s brother was killed. The war ended that day with Voldemort’s defeat and the wizarding world was safe again.

After the war George went back to working the Joke Shop that he and his late twin had started, throwing himself into his work. He was never quite the same after the battle, finding it exceptionally difficult to deal with the loss of his twin. He continued to date Angelina Johnson for several years until 2005. She had wanted more from him then just a relationship and George just didn’t feel ready for that step though they still parted as good friends. During this time his brother Ron quit his job as an auror and stepped in to help with the shop. It was a relief but not the same as having Fred there. After the re-questioning of Purebloods Ron had left him to tend to the shop himself and went traveling with their younger sister. While the Weasleys were well known for their help in ending the war they were starting to be looked at different as pureblood discrimination was on the rise. His family had started to receive threats making George feel it was important to move back to the Burrow to protect his parents.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? George is vehemently against how purebloods are being treated. While he acknowledges that the treatment of Death Eaters is also horrific he doesn't feel as much for them due to his twin's death though he won't comment on that aloud.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? George lost two of his uncles during the first war, and his twin in the second war. He is still haunted by his brother's death though he was relieved when Voldemort was defeated. While everyone was celebrating the Dark Lord's demise, he and his family were still in mourning

Family History:

Arthur Weasley was born in February 1950 to Septimus Weasley and Cedrella Weasley (nee Black). His mother had been disowned by the Black family for choosing to marry a ‘blood traitor’ as his father was a big proponent of equal right regardless of blood status. Arthur began his schooling at Hogwarts in 1951 being sorted into Gryffindor. During his school days he dated a fellow Gryffindor named Molly Prewett. Shortly after graduation the pair married and started their large family consisting of six boys and one girl. During that time he obtained a job at the Ministry working in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office.

During the first war Arthur was not a member of the Order. Molly is also not mentioned to be a member though most speculate it was because of their young children. Her brothers were members and were tragically killed during that war. Both Arthur and Molly were active members of the second war and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts where their son Fred was killed. They fought hard, Molly being the one to kill Bellatrix Lestrange. They have both have continued to be active in the goings-on surrounding the current conditions the new Minister has put in place dehumanizing Death Eaters and causing a stigma to fall upon purebloods.
