Character History:

Todd's father died before he was even born. For the majority of his life, it was just him and his mother. As soon as he was old enough to walk, Todd began doing anything and everything he could to help his mother. They lived on a farm in Scotland and tried to live off the and as much as possible to save money, as the only work his mother could find was as a waitress. It was with great skill and efficiency that Todd picked up hunting and farming so easily, almost as if magic. Todd knew that it was possible that he could be a wizard, but he prayed he wasn't as he feared leaving his mother alone.

Unfortunately for Todd, the Hogwarts letter came on his eleventh birthday. He screamed and cried, and refused to go. His mother on the other hand, was proud. She encouraged him to go and to embrace this thing that bonds him to his father. With this reassurance, Todd went to Hogwarts.

At Hogwarts, Todd did exceptionally well at many subjects, but kept to himself for the most part. He was constantly worried about his mom, and wrote her in any spare time he had. Once he returned home for the summer after his first year, he could see how much him not being there had hurt her. He worked so hard that first summer, refusing to ever quit just so she would be taken care of when he left. One day when was working very diligently in the garden, it was very hot, and Todd passed out. He was rushed to a hospital and almost died due to dehydration. Todd's mother was so worried about him and knew she would have to do something before the next summer if Todd were to act like this.

His second year, Todd returned to school and continued his usually bit of writing to his mother. However, this time, letters stopped returning. The only letters he received were ones from his mother denying him to return home for breaks until summer. Even though Todd fought this, the headmistress made sure Claire's wishes were met.

When Todd returned home finally after his second year had ended, he discovered his mom had been dating someone that had moved in the home with a daughter of his own. Todd was furious at his mother for not telling him, and even more furious later on that summer when this man, Leeroy, asked Claire to marry him. Todd spent most of his days outside hunting. Samantha, being the curious little girl she was, worried about Todd and constantly followed him annoying him into actually caring a great deal for her.

During his third year, he kept his distance from returning home. He wrote letters to Samantha though and she encouraged him to be forgiving towards his mother and helped him understand that she did this because she cared for him. When he returned home that summer, mother and Leeroy were wed. Todd finally accepted it and began rebuilding his relationship with his mother and building a new one with his step-father.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? Todd is strongly against death eaters and he holds a vendetta against them. He feels that they deserve the treatment they have been given because their obsession with pure families hurt his own.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? His paternal side of his family were purebloods and devout followers to the Dark Lord. His father, Turshish, chose a different path so he fled from his family after he finished Hogwarts. Once, Voldemort was defeated, Turshish's family came to say their final words to their son before their imprisonment, which were harsh words to their son as they planned to guilt him for not joining the side of the death eaters and how he was a disgrace to the family. Upon discovering he was married to a muggle, they killed him. Todd and his mother could have been killed too, but they fled.

Family History:

Turshish was born to a pureblood family in the wizarding town Falmouth. They believed strongly in keeping their blood line clean and all of them were death eaters. Tobias didn't quite understand why his family was so keen and what was so wrong with muggleborns. He never believed that they stole magic from the purebloods.

When he started Hogwarts, he was sorted into Ravenclaw, which was a surprise to the family since they had all been sorted into Slytherin. Still, they dealt with it as at least he wasn't a Hufflepuff. However, because he was a Ravenclaw, he began to meet and befriend muggleborns and grow ever more interested in muggle activities.

Turshish graduated and knew he would be expected to join the death eaters, so he ran away to Scotland. Wanting to hide among muggles, the last place his parents would look for him, he took a job as a farmhand. He was absolutely dreadful, but he felt that it would keep him off the map for a bit. The farmer's daughter, Claire, helped him learn not only how to farm, but how to love as well. In a short time, the two were wed.

A couple of years into their marriage, Claire became pregnant. Not too long after this, Voldemort was defeated. Turshish knew that now, his parents would be looking for him, so he sent his pregnant wife away into hiding telling her a wizarding friend of his would come when it was safe. Turshish's family eventually found him. They spoke to him harshly, saying it was disappointing children like him that caused them to lose the war of the wizarding world. As they inspected the home, they stumbled upon a wedding picture. Knowing that the only reason Turshish would hide a marriage from them was because he married a muggle, they killed Turshish to insure their family line would be kept clean. They hunted Claire, but were imprisoned before she could be found.

Charles, the wizard friend of Turshish, came to Claire to tell her of Turshish's death. She wept and the only thing that kept her will to live was being pregnant with her fallen husband's child. Charles told her of the news that Turshish's murderers were now in prison, so she returned home, unsure of what to do, but knowing she had to provide for the child she was carrying. Shortly after returning to Scotland, Todd was born.
