Tinsley had managed to stay relatively low-key, compared to her sister, apparently. She didn’t always keep on top of what Sutton was doing, not that she ever had to. They talked every day, obviously, and as far as she knew, they didn’t have secrets from each other. Tinsley supposed she had gotten into her fair share of trouble this year, but nothing memorable. At least, nothing that she could really remember, anyways. It definitely benefited her that she could sweetly talk herself out of situations on occasion, if she even wanted to. Even serving detention was a bit more exciting than just mindlessly waiting for school to end. Besides, detention meant meeting the only blokes that were actually worth a second look. Even standing here with her sister, looking about the room, she saw some faces that she had easily recognized from her detentions. Tinsley supposed the ball was a nice relaxing moment before they had to meet their pathetic mother for the summer. The closer they got to summer, the more bitter Tinsley was at the situation. She wasn’t even certain what their mother expected of them, but they weren’t going to weep with her about her life that was falling apart. They needed a mother, not to BE the bloody parent of their supposed mother. It really would always be her and Sutton against the world, without their family.

“What fun would that be?” Tinsley asked, quirking an eyebrow at her sister, smirking slightly. “I like to put your confidence down whenever the opportunity presents itself,” she shrugged. The Gryffindor turned her face to glance at @sutton at her statement, shaking her head in amusement. “Oh yeah? What about? She realize you don’t actually belong in her house?” she joked, smirking. “I’m surprised you even know her name,” she laughed.

Isabella couldn’t believe that she actually enjoyed dancing; she had merely assumed that it was just such a natural bore and an unnecessary evil in this world when she was forced to do it at balls. Now, she was finding that it was quickly becoming something she thoroughly enjoyed, though she wondered if that was due to the fact that she was dancing with Evan. Maybe it was because she had made the decision to come to the ball instead of being forced….either way, it was enjoyable. It really was a great way to end the stressful year, she thought to herself. The summer was going to bring a new set of challenges with living with her aunt and trying to introduce Evan to her family…neither of which sounded like it was going to go smoothly. However, those were concerns for a later date as now, she was trying to determine who the better dancer was.

“Of course I was; I know by now that you’re clearly going to be terrible at SOMETHING you haven’t done before,” she replied, thinking back to ice skating. He certainly had ended up learning that quickly, much to her equal disappointment and pride. Most people would probably find it tiring dating someone that was apparently bloody perfect, but it certainly wasn’t something that bothered her in the slightest when it came to @evan. Isabella pretended to think for a moment about his statement, deciding between staying or leaving. “I think this will be the first time I’m perfectly okay with settling for a tie,” she grinned. Dancing was great, but not great enough to keep her there longer than necessary. Besides, her aunt was probably coming back soon and she definitely didn’t want her to see her leaving with Evan as that would just ruin everyone’s night…so she assumed, anyways.

It was absolutely wonderful to stand around and watch all of the lovely students having a good time, for the most part. From what she remembered, and could see, balls typically came along with a lot of drama for whatever reason that was. It was something that Kahina simply didn’t understand as she wanted everyone to fully enjoy their evenings and why they would waste their time with drama was simply absurd. Balls were a chance to relax, let loose, and have a bit of fun, not get concerned over who went with who and what gown disasters had occurred. Kahina did have to admit that it was rather odd being on this side of things at the school, being a professor and not a student. She really did hope that her friend, Daisy, was alright. Though, at least she was having a conversation with Copeland, which was always enjoyable. Really, having a conversation with anyone was rather enjoyable. The Divination professor certainly hoped that there would be no more issues at the ball so that all of the students could properly enjoy their nights.

Evan knew that this relationship was different than his previous one—bloody obviously. He actually cared about @isabella, for one, and this was also the second time they were dating, which was different as well. Really, everything about this relationship was different, luckily, but this had been the first time that his mind had wandered to any time so far in the future and it was a bloody odd thought. For some reason, plans for this summer hadn’t seemed strange to him at all, and he hadn’t thought much of meeting her family, which is shit that some blokes would avoid like the plague. But thinking of a year from now was just something that he hadn’t done, and he probably shouldn’t. she would probably think shit like that was odd, just like he bloody did. Clearly—because no one thought that far in advance.

“What a revelation,” Evan said, laughing. He supposed that made sense, since he couldn’t think of anything that he had done before that he wasn’t good at. Though that did intrigue him on what she could possibly think up that he hadn’t done. There were obviously many things he hadn’t done, but it was all a matter of her figuring out what those were. Then, obviously, he had to actually end up being bad at it, which he could attempt, to himself at least, that she would probably be successful in at some point. Normally, he would not be one to call the results of any challenge a tie, but he knew that it was the faster way to determine it. Besides, she was a good dancer, and them trying to determine who had won could potentially take a lot longer than either of them was willing to spend at the ball. A tie was… literally, a win for both of them, at least in his opinion. “I’m glad you share my sentiments on the matter,” he replied, grinning crookedly in response before dropping the hand that had been on her waist, though keeping the other one in his free hand. He would ask her where she wanted to go, but he thought that the answer was pretty damn clear. So, they would head to the sixth floor, which he was sure was a far better idea even if it was a bit of a further distance away.

Sutton hardly saw why she and @tinsley even bothered to go home for the summer. Their mother wouldn’t notice if they didn’t, and then they could have a hell of a lot more fun without that depressing situation. She supposed finding somewhere to stay would be a bit more of a challenge, but Sutton and Tinsley were more than capable of finding someone to fund them staying at Bulgari every night. That hotel was certainly more up to her tastes than their house. A smile formed on her lips at her sister’s words, deciding to contemplate their summer a bit more later. “No fun at all, clearly. By all means, continue—I do love your witty repartee.” Sutton said, dryly, though she was already once again trying to determine if they should skip heading home for the summer. There were plenty of hotels up to their standards in London, if they found someone to fund their stay there.

At first, Sutton had contemplated the meeting with her head of house as something that might provide a mild bit of entertainment, at the very least. It had, actually, but she found that it had been even more informative. It was far too easy for her to learn more about the people around her based on how they acted, spoke, and other tiny little quirks that the person was normally unaware of. “Undoubtedly,” she replied, laughing. The woman probably wanted her out of Ravenclaw more than anyone ever had before which was too bad for her, really. Sutton planned to make her final year at Hogwarts the most entertaining yet, and she would be immensely glad that Lowry would be around to see it. “I prefer to not be on a… name-basis with my head of house, but she obviously didn’t get that memo.” Sutton said, missing the days of her old head of house that had never felt the need to meet with her. Those had been convenient days. “She tried to prove some ridiculous point by making me choose my own detention—that was after an endless amount of you-can-do-betters and attempts at unseating the underlining reasons for my ‘acting out,’ of course.” Sutton shook her head in amusement at the thought.

The Hufflepuff had continued to watch the event that took place between the two Slytherin boys. She really didn’t know them. Sure, she had seen them on the Quidditch field and could probably recall their last names if she wasn’t in so much shock about what was going on. Thankfully, some students and a professor had chosen to intervene before things got too out of hand. She turned her gaze away and lowered her hand from her mouth, noticing that things were starting to calm down.

Kiki certainly hoped that the rest of the night would go a bit more smoothly. It was a fun night, and she was sure the seventh years would want to enjoy their last ball without drama interfering with their evening. Tonight was supposed to be fun and a reminder of friendships, not a night to ruin them through fighting. Sure, the fifth year hadn’t any idea what broke out the fight, but she imagined it was over something trivial. There was nothing so bad to ruin a good event in her opinion.

@ezekiel still was pre-occupied with his dance with the younger girl. For goodness sake, I hope that little girl didn’t see the fighting. While a big part of her really hoped that the Gryffindor boy would return and ask her for a dance, at least now it gave her a chance to do a little checking in on @caleb and @ruby. She gazed out of the corner of her eye to see how they were doing. The brunette saw that her friend was smiling, and that was all she needed. It made her happy to see him like that, and if Ruby was the cause of it, then she was good for him in her book.

Not wanting to be rude to the Ravenclaw girl, she turned her attention back to @hazel. Kiki loved making new friends, and this girl seemed nice enough. She stated that she was Ruby’s dorm mate, so that told Kiki that Hazel was younger than her. “Great! Ruby seems like she’d be a good dorm mate.” When Kiki was asked how she knew Ruby, she felt a smirk creep on her face. “I’m friends with her older brother, so that is how I know her.” Did friends really do justice in describing them? Well, yes, all we are is friends. “I actually just met Ruby for the first time tonight, but she seems so sweet,” Kiki said before casting a quick glance back towards her and Caleb.

It was nice to scan around the room to see all of the things going on. She watched her head of house, enter the room. She smiled, though she feared a meeting with her head of house in regards to her future planning would soon be coming. However, she wouldn’t think about that this evening. Kiki thought back to the conversation she had with Caleb, and she wondered if any of the professors would end up dancing, particularly @minerva like they had joked about in their common room. Besides Zeke, the only person she really knew among the currently dancing couples was @isabella. She smiled as she watched her friend. It wasn’t surprising at all that she would be out dancing, as the Slytherin chaser had once told Kiki that she had taken ballroom dancing. She’s actually very good.

Truth be told, Todd had no idea if he would be able to get through to @roman. He hoped that somehow he could appeal to the friendship they had years ago, but didn’t know if that would be likely. He thought he could feel the Slytherin ease a little bit, but who knew if this was because of him or just due to the fact he had drawn a lot of attention to himself. Whatever it was Todd was hoping that the sixth year would fucking calm down enough to walk away and not make the situation worse. He wasn’t about to let go and let him do something stupid.

Unfortunately, the defense against the dark arts professor had other ideas as she pushed him aside to intervene. Well, this isn’t exactly what I wanted, but it will do. Todd suddenly became aware just how many people were watching and now there were people nearby. He could see @isabella was now nearby. It had been some time since the two had talked. Wait, was she the one that cast that spell? He wanted to ask, but he wasn’t one to voluntarily engage in conversation, and while he may not understand proper social etiquette, he was smart enough to know now was not the time.

Feeling that he really had nothing else he could offer now that administration and others had intervened, he took advantage of the opportunity and allowed himself to disappear back to his spot on the wall. He still kept his watch from afar as the two boys were escorted out by his head of house. Professor @samuel confronted the Gryffindor girl that had been amongst the boys and then approach his own head of house near the refreshment table. He smirked. Well, so much for our little conversation. Not that he mattered at all. Todd found it tiring and straining to converse with anyone as he usually had to try so hard. Bloody hell, fucking exams are easier than this social shit. He took out his wand and used a summoning charm to bring another butterbeer to him, feeling unwilling to venture away from his spot again.

Minerva smiled gently at @kahina. ”Well thank you Professor Adesina. You look beautiful as well.” She did really enjoy the seer. It felt like the woman just carried around happiness wherever she went. It was a shame there weren’t more people like her in the world, especially with how things were going at present. It seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves which had been her goal. The older witch was dreading what would come that summer. She looked around at all of her young students, knowing that there was a good chance that history would repeat itself and these children might be dragged into the next uprising. There was no solid proof that a rebellion was on the rise, but she had been through enough wars to know what it felt like… the calm before the storm. If the Minister didn’t stop with his nonsense another war was soon to follow. Maybe she needed to pay the man a visit.

Her head snapped to the side as she saw a commotion break out, raising her wand ready to storm over when she noticed the Head of Slytherin house quickly make her way over to the small crowd. She didn’t necessarily agree with the woman physically removing the boys from the hall, but she was unaware of the exact situation that took place. She would have to call Professor Petrov in later to discuss it all. Things seemed to calm down quickly as she watched students move about the dance floor.

The Headmistress took her time walking about the hall greeting a few students here and there as the dance continued before moving back to the front of the room. It was getting late and it was due time for the students to turn in for the night. She signaled the band to stop before putting her wand to her throat and amplifying her voice. ”Attention students and staff, I would like to thank you all for coming and making this a wonderful evening. I ask that everyone please return to their appropriate dorms at this time.” She said before letting a small smile grace her features as she watched students and staff begin to file out of the hall.

(((The ball is officially OVER. I will be locking this thread tomorrow Tuesday, June 16th at 9pm EST so feel free to reply in regards to your character leaving the hall)))

The fourth year looked at the Slytherin head of house removing her two students from the hall. She was glad that whole commotion was over. At least now everyone else was able to enjoy their night. Hazel had been in two minds, honestly if she had wanted to attend tonight or not. She may be more outgoing than the typical Ravenclaw but didn’t atomically mean she would be attending school balls. Growing up in a largely muggle environment, she had grown accustomed to those kind of events and she often knew more people there too, granted however most of them were her family. But Hazel did have her fair share of Muggle Friends. But she was slowly making more and more friends in the magical world.

Turning her head as @kiki spoke to her the girl smiled back and nodded. “ That she is, I’m practically granted a study partner for life, well my Hogwarts life anyhow” she laughed lightly. Hazel looked around and saw a few couples on the dance floor and kind of envied them. Oh well maybe the next school ball she would have a dance partner, she could wait until next year. Seeing the smirk on Kiki’s face she realised what that meant. “ Oh! You know him, right….I see” she said matching the other girl’s expression. Looking over at the food she saw how happy Ruby appeared to be with the blonde boy and that in turn made Hazel happy. “Yeah she’s great, sweet and all, actually all us eagles are” Hazel joked, clearly knowing that just like the other houses, all types of personalities could be found in Ravenclaw.

Hazel had been enjoying the music and watching everyone when she heard the headmistress speak up. Well that was the end of that, she concluded in her mind. Turning to the Hufflepuff she spoke. “This was a lovely night, wasn’t it?. I might grab a pumpkin pasty and make my way back to the tower, Merlin knows my walk will be long enough” she said rolling her eyes. The distance to the great hall from her common room would be something she would complain about until she graduated. “It was nice to meet you Kiki, I’m sure we’ll run into each other somewhere” she smiled before making her way over to the food than out the doors with everyone else.
