The Ravenclaw looked back at her dorm mate the boy she was talking to. Ruby hadn’t told her about this development, so she would surely be pestering her fellow eagle soon enough, probably when they got back to their tower after the ball. It would be a lot of fun for Hazel to tease the red head girl, especially if she and the boy started dating. But they had always paid each other out, after all they had been dorm mates for four years now. Hazel beamed and shook the other girl’s hand. “Likewise it’s nice to meet you too, @kiki” she said honestly. The girl didn’t appear to another fourth year so she assumed she was and older student. “Yeah, we’re stuck together until we graduate, we’re dorm mates” she answered happily. The eagle knew that @todd was here too, she had seen him when she entered, perhaps she would speak to him soon, though he didn’t really speak too much. The girl knew was more outgoing than your typical book loving eagle but that didn’t mean she couldn’t be found in the library on occasion, she just balanced out her time at school more than the other people in Ravenclaw. “How do you know her?” Hazel wondered.

At Kiki’s words Hazel looked around the hall, wondering what was going on, than she saw it. “Oh dear, that doesn’t look good” she said quietly. The Ravenclaw looked at the staff wondering if her new head of house was amongst them, she assumed so, but right now she wondered if the headmistress would get involved in whatever was going on with the books who were in an altercation with one and other.

Truth be told, Todd had no idea what to expect at these things. Since he had avoided them so adamantly, he had no idea if all there was to these things was awkward dancing and flirting. If that was the case, then this was going to be a horribly miserable evening as he sure as hell wouldn’t be participating in either of those activities. Good God, if this was what people thought was fun, then they seriously needed to get out more in his opinion. Of course, he was sure that many thought his idea of a good time to be boring, but at least it gave him some self-satisfaction and he didn’t need to depend on someone else for a good time.

While maybe he wasn’t one for conversation, the young man did enjoy people-watching. As a hunter, part of had just grown accustomed to watching and waiting for something to happen. His eyes landed on a nearby ground where one of his housemates, @ruby, was sitting. She gave a little wave in his direction, and he gave a polite nod at her. He snickered a bit into his drink as he could tell she was obviously very preoccupied by the Hufflepuff boy in the group. The joys of hormones at its finest, no doubt. Luckily in his opinion, he had the sense to understand that as adolescents, emotions were heightened, particularly at things like this. He believed watching the spectacle around him was like watching a pack of dogs where all of the females were in heat. Usually, these were the thoughts that kept him from females, not wanting to appear like a sex-deprived canine. However, he wasn’t stupid. He realized that being a teen male, an attractive woman in his presence was bound to be somewhat arousing.

Two professors approached Todd, which in all honesty, he was a bit grateful for. It would be unlikely that he would have to put up with conversation from students at this point as they wouldn’t approach him if professors were with him, many of the students here were strange like that. Plus, he still could tell his family that he did indeed go to the ball like he requested, but it couldn’t be helped if the only people that approached him taught care of magical creatures and charms. Todd gave a nod as he sipped from his glass to show Professor @samuel that he had guessed his name correctly. The Ravenclaw fought the smirk that died to surface when asked about if he was ready for exams. Maybe Copeland hadn’t realized that he didn’t spend a lot of time socializing. In fact, studying was pretty much all the fifth year did these days. “Yes, sir. Are you all ready to give them?” It was a bit of an odd question, but Todd didn’t care. It wasn’t like he ever really picked up any skills on appropriate small-talk.

He turned his gaze away from the two men, allowing them discuss whatever the hell it was that professors discussed, and continued his scouting of the students. Things seemed pretty typical until his eyes landed on a Slytherin boy and Gryffindor kissing. Wait, isn’t that… Before Todd could even fully form the thought, it was confirmed as he watched @roman slam the Slytherin smoocher against the wall. The Ravenclaw pushed himself away from the wall on which he was leaning, sat his drink down, and walked rather quickly and calmly to the boy. The sixteen-year-old had actually considered Roman to be, well, a friend sort of, but that was before Roman became so suddenly and unexplainably distant from everyone. Todd had always naturally been a loner, but Roman distancing himself had probably pushed him away from people even more. Nevertheless, he still thought the Slytherin was a fairly cool guy, and the last thing he wanted was to see an old friend get in trouble just because he reacted poorly to something that upset him. Todd saw purple sparks flying towards the Slytherin sixth year and hoped that would work, and could hear the Gryffindor girl asking them to stop. “Roman!” Todd’s voice boomed, which was unexpected from the quiet soul. “Roman, stop. This isn’t helping matters,” Todd said placing his hand on the bloke’s shoulder in a reassuring manner, but ready to grip in attempt to pull him away if he needed to. While Todd was rather strong, he knew with the Slytherin built up on adrenaline, he may not be able to pull him away. Regardless, he wasn’t about to let the bloke get himself into trouble.

Despite being a faithful Ravenclaw, Kahina couldn’t recall a time that she had purposefully skipped an event such as this one. She absolutely loved to dance and she definitely loved music. It was such a wonderful way for someone to express themselves, from what she had seen, and anyone could dance. Of course, some danced slightly crazier than others, but that was to be expected. As long as everyone was having fun, it really didn’t matter all that much. Seeing all of the happy young faces was all she needed to be convinced that having balls was a wonderful idea, bringing the young ones out of their shells. Exams were right around the corner and this was most definitely a needed relaxation for them to all take.

Kahina’s smile spread wide on her cheeks, her cheeks hurting slightly from the depth of the feature. She let her arms wrap tightly around her dear friend, @daisy. “Not nearly as dashing as you do, beautiful,” she stated, her eyes shining with happiness. “Feel like you’re a student yet?” she asked her friend and co-worker, looking about the room. “It’s about time you came to one,” Kahina laughed, trying to recall a time that Daisy had come to a ball but coming up blank. The beautiful brunette brought her eyes towards another co-worker, , the professor’s whose name she would always recognize as rhyming with her own name. To her, that meant that they were destined to be friends, clearly.

“Oh, this thing? I just threw it together! I made it out of a bit of material that my grandmother had lying around. I’m certain any of you could pull it off if only you would wear it,” she brushed off, smiling. “I hope all is well with you?” she asked the Potions professor, wondering if any of the professors would actually go dance. She certainly wanted to…but a part of her wondered if that was even allowed. Not being allowed to dance? Well, that was just ridiculous.

The dormitories had smelled so incredibly terrible before Tinsley had left, every witch attempting to use a hell of a lot of perfume and other fragrances in a suffocating manner. It was as if they were attempting to have the blokes inhale enough of the smell that it started to affect their thinking capability. Perhaps that was the only way they were going to get laid that night, she mused to herself. It was no secret that everyone…of a certain age…had hoped that they would leave here getting lucky. It was the only reason half of the blokes, if not all, had even come to these ridiculous things. Bints were just too desperate nowadays, not that she really cared all that much.

Tinsley made a face at Sutton’s greeting, shaking her head. “You always were the bitter one,” she shrugged in response, grinning widely. “Surprising that no girl has had a wardrobe malfunction yet. What should we give it? Five minutes before we help liven up the party?” she asked her sister, quirking an eyebrow in her direction. “Ugh, this music is horrid,” she commented, making a face of disgust. This certainly wasn’t music that she and Sutton typically danced to.

Knowing that they were in relatively the same area when they returned to the muggle world was going to be challenging in avoiding him. Though, it wasn’t as if she had seen him beforehand, though she hadn’t been looking. She had known him then, that he was Finn Harlow, undefeated champion in the Muggle world, who had a secret that apparently no one had known. It wasn’t like she was about to go shout out that she knew the bloke as she really hadn’t. Knowing someone’s name hardly counted as knowing the person, something that a lot of people annoyingly got wrong, apparently. However, now she would say that she at least knew Finn better than anyone in the school, not that anyone bloody cared about them. Hell, the once had some professor claim that…not that she even remembered who it was at this point. The only reason she had come to Hogwarts was because she was forced and the only reason she stayed was because she had a bed and she had food. Now, she stayed because she had Finn for the rest of the year before they parted ways. They hadn’t talked about the future ever, as to either of them, the future was unimportant when they had too much shit to deal with in the present.

Mila let her eyes glance around the room again, noting the Head of Hufflepuff glancing their way. She rolled her eyes and moved them to another area. Taking a sip of her butterbeer, she listened as the music had played, wishing there was actually something they could dance to. “You ever go to that club on the corner of Seventh and Grand? That would have been a much better use of our time,” she shrugged, remembering the club that was definitely more of her style of dancing. How the hell would she be able to dance to something like this? Her attention moved to a situation that was occurring across the room with two snakes…over a bint, no less. She was almost thankful for the show, before annoying students broke it off before anything even began. It was slightly amusing to her that the fight was broke off so soon when fighting was what Finn did and the fights would most certainly not end after one chokehold. “Well, that was almost entertaining…if I hadn’t actually ever seen a fight before.”

Sometimes, Sutton did wonder why the headmistress even put together a ball like this. Did she and the rest of the staff not know the main purpose to main of the older students to even bother attending? Just because they were in a school of damn magic, didn’t mean that they were thinking about anything other than getting lucky; it was something that was amusingly exactly the same as being in the Muggle world, and she did gain a bit of amusement out of that fact. Something’s didn’t change no matter what, and that was certainly an example. What was going to be particularly interesting was watching as others attempted to make that situation occur—the desperate bints trying to get blokes to dance with them, as if the close contact was suddenly enough for an uninterested bloke to sweep a dull girl off of her feet. Sutton supposed if that was ever going to happen, it would happen here—even desperate witches would have a chance tonight, since that was why the blokes even bloody came to these things.

“Bitter? Me?” She asked, innocently, placing her interlaced hands against her chest as if shocked by the implication. “No, my dear sister, I speak only the truth.” Of course, @tinsley wasn’t less attractive; they were both bloody perfect, clearly. Perhaps Aubrey was the ugly one, wherever she was. It had been so long since they’d seen the sister that hated them, and she certainly could have grown up ugly just as karma for being such a bitch. “Three,” she countered, nodding. They had many ways to make things interesting around here, and Sutton was absolutely fine with amusing a little bit of chaos if the situation called for it. Harmless chaos, of course. “Absolutely awful,” she agreed, taking a glance around the room in time to see something rather interesting happening across the room. Raising an eyebrow, she glanced back over at her sister before once again taking in the scene. A fight so early, perhaps this night had some potential after all.

Although the end of the year meant the end of this … agreement, or relationship, or whatever the hell it was, Finn was also looking forward to being away from this place for a bit. He always ended up wondering why he had even bothered to come back to Hogwarts, when he had a pretty damn good setup back at home. Well… decent, at least, for where he came from. His fights kept him with enough money to not live on the streets, at least, and have food at least semi-regularly. He had his friends back home too, or not his friends, but people that he actually trusted and hung out around. There were just a hell of a lot more benefits in being there than being here, with the one exception apparently being @mila. But after this year ended, then that ended him needing to be there really. He could do without food on a regular basis, which had been the only benefit that had kept him here as long as he’d been there. The prospect of having somewhere to sleep had been what originally drew him in all those years back, but that was no longer something he needed since he had his apartment now. Granted the bed here was a lot more comfortable than the one at home, but that wasn’t shit that he thought much about; a bed was a damn bed, and he was far too used to nothing to notice much of a difference, really.

“Seventh and Grand,” he repeated, trying to recall the club in question. Finn had certainly been there once or twice, but it was a bit nicer of a place than he normally found himself at. It was odd to think that he could have seen her there, but he really had only been there a handful of times. “Think I’ve been there once or twice,” Finn agreed, nodding that it was certainly a better damn use of their time than this stupid ball. Why the bloody hell had they come here again? It seemed like that was the question that was going to repeat through his mind all damn night. His lips quirked up into an amused smirk at Mila’s comment, watching the…. Interaction, really, because it couldn’t be considered a fight, with mild interest. “And then they go straight to magic to sort it out—bloody boring.” He said, shaking his head. Sometimes the students here could be almost interesting, but then they went right back to using magic to solve their problems; he noted that a Slytherin girl had already done that which was just ridiculous in his opinion.

Persephone had been enjoying her evening so far, or what little of it had happened so far. She laughed loudly as @daisy commented on her dress before pulling the woman in for a one armed hug. ”Well you look awesome as well!” She said with another light laugh. ”Thank you, . You look beautiful as well.” She replied with a smile. The woman’s past was shady at best; they had gone to school together for years. She knew a fair bit about her, though now she really needed to keep an eye on her due to a few rumors flying about the office. It was sad really that someone she knew growing up was someone she would now I have to do some digging on. ”We definitely need to.” Persephone added with a bright smile before seeing something from the corner of her eye.

Her brows furrowed as she saw one of her snakes rush a couple kissing and choke slam another boy. Obviously she could not have one evening of just pretending life was normal. This ball had turned into an investigation and now she would have to referee for two of her hormone driven male snakes. She moved swiftly through the crowd seeing a jet of purple sparks fly towards the blond Slytherin looking over to see it come from her niece’s wand. Well she was a damn good shot at least, she thought to herself as she saw the blond release his grip on his… cousin? Honestly, this was ridiculous. She moved swiftly urging a Ravenclaw boy away from Roman as well as the Gryffindor girl caught in the mix. She grabbed the back of Roman’s shirt and yanked him back with a glare. ”There better be a damn good explanation for what the hell you lot are doing.” She hissed to both boys as she waited for one of them to speak.

Evan shook his head, chuckling under his breath. She probably knew how to dance just as well as he did, but he would never admit that. It would be yet another challenge, though they actually hadn’t placed a bet on this one in particular. “I thought we’ve cleared up that I’m the perfect one in this relationship,” he said, a smirk growing across his lips. Perhaps even the concept of turning them dancing into a bit of a competition would be able to distract him from the other thoughts he was currently having about his girlfriend. After all, it was far too early to ditch the ball and not look… well, he didn’t care if it looked that questionable, really. He would give it a few dances, like Isabella had suggested, as they could probably handle that at least.

If he hadn’t been looking, he didn’t think he would have believed what he just saw—which was Trey kissing Cecilia, or he supposed she could have kissed him. Evan had glanced away the moment before and was unsure how it had started, but only moments later he then witnessed Roman intervening in the situation. “Well, fuck,” he muttered, taking only a moment to decide if he should use magic to stop what was occurring or to go over there himself. The last thing any of them needed was Roman getting expelled, Cecilia getting hurt, or Trey… getting hurt too, he supposed. Luckily, his girlfriend had quicker reflexes than him—not that he would ever bloody admit that, and was pulling out her wand and shooting a spell at Roman in time to attempt to prevent any further damage or trouble for the group. What the bloody hell was going on, he wondered, watching as a Ravenclaw student stepped in as well.

Evan glanced at Isabella, raising an eyebrow, before moving his gaze back over to the group. He really wanted to bloody know what was going on, and he would expect that Isabella wanted to know just as badly as he did—if not probably bloody more. Since her free hand was still in his, Evan decided to move over to the group. After all, with how pissed Roman looked, the Ravenclaw might need some help in keeping him from actually bloody killing Trey. But why the hell had he been kissing Cecilia? Merlin, he bloody hated drama, and avoiding that had certainly been one benefit of having no friends his past years in Hogwarts. Of course, now he was stuck giving a shit about them, he supposed, so he did want to know what the bloody hell was happening. He made it over to them in time to hear the Ravenclaw telling him to stop, though he wasn’t quite sure that that was going to bloody do the trick. Somehow Evan doubted that Roman gave a damn if killing or maiming his cousin would help anything, with how pissed he looked. He couldn’t blame him—regardless of what the hell had happened and how, Evan would be pissed to walk into a room to see someone kissing his girlfriend and it certainly didn’t seem like Cecilia had been an unwilling participant. He arrived just as their head of house did, and she did not look bloody pleased in the slightest. Once she had moved Cecilia aside, Evan took a step forward, pulling Cecilia back by her arm enough to separate her from … well, he supposed it was over now, but he doubted that Roman wanted her in his vicinity. “You aren’t helping the situation, Ceci,” he muttered, still wondering what the bloody hell was going on.

Trey had not thought this through as much as he should have. He knew Roman would be pissed. He knew Roman wasn’t as big as him, but he was pretty bloody strong from what he could tell from playing quidditch. It seemed like the moment his lips touched Cecilia’s she was being ripped from him and being slammed up against the wall by his throat. His grasp was tight pinning him where he stood. He stood still trying to pretend that his cousin wasn’t actually choking the breath from him. He wasn’t about to flop around like some bloody pansy, but soon he felt his vision begin to waver. Voices started sounding like they were coming from underwater and just as he was sure he may pass out he felt air rush back into his lungs.

He coughed and sputtered for a moment as Cecilia stood off to the side as if she were trying to help, along with a Ravenclaw boy who looked like he was poised to snatch his cousin up and pull him back if necessary. He kept his back to the wall as he put his hands on his knees to try to regain his breath. Trey could still hear ringing in his ears as he saw their head of house storm over and snatch his cousin up by the shirt demanding an explanation. ”He’s a bloody nutter!” He rasped slowly standing up straight.
