Appearance and Personality
General Appearance: James' appearance can be generalized as classically handsome. His chocolate brown hair is cut in a short layered cut he usually leaves messy. He has piercing amber eyes accentuated by lightly groomed expressive eyebrows. His cheekbones are higher than average and his nose is crooked across the bridge from multiple breaks, coming to a light point at the nostrils. James' mouth is partially hidden by a well groomed beard. His lips are a soft pink and are slim. He has an athletic build, though would be described as fit and tone rather than built with muscles.

Character History:

James's early years were spent in the muggle world, his mother hiding her magical abilities to be with his father. He grew up experiencing the joys of a loving family. His first magical experience came when he was eight and attempting to avoid getting into trouble for digging up his mother's flowers. He managed to hide himself for hours in the closet of his bedroom.

At age eleven he received his letter to Hogwarts, following in his mother's footsteps. He graduated with high marks in all of his core classes. He headed to the United States to apprentice in Muggle Studies under professor Alexander L. Thomas, avoiding most of the final battle. He took over the position two years later when Professor Thomas retired.

Now, with news of his father falling ill, he is trying to find a position closer to his parents.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? James' has followed the policies of Wizarding Britain closely throughout his years overseas. He has aligned himself with the Dimiite, though he has not done much in way of helping.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? His parents were unaffected by the reign and death of Voldemort due to predominantly living in the Muggle world. His younger sister was a first year when Voldemort was killed. Her exposure was solely through her time as a student.

Family History:

Randall (Randy) Williams, was born to a Muggle family on the outskirts of London. His father worked in one of the many plants and Randy, determined not to follow in his footsteps, spent all of his free time in the public library reading everything he could. He was accepted into University where he met Judy Carter through mutual friends.

After his graduation in 1978 he married Judy, settling into a small apartment. They both were granted positions in a primary school, him as a history teacher and her as a secretary. In October of 1979 they had their first child, Randall. In January of 1987 they had their second child - both were surprises.

Now Randall is close to retirement though he was just diagnosed with kidney cancer. Judy is still working as a secretary and his been rewarded for her loyalty. She plans to retire in six years at the age of 65.

Roleplay Sample

James paced the provided hospital waiting room. His father had just been taken back for surgery and the family was gathered, his mother and sister sitting quietly in the corner. He was far too anxious for that.

'They were supposed to be finished hours ago,' he thought bitterly, turning to pace back toward the other end of the hall. The room was small, only allowing him to take three steps in each direction. It had the stereotypical sanitary feel and white walls, making him long for the outdoors. This was the last place he wanted to spend his second day back in the country. Not only that, but he was still awaiting to hear back about his inquiry into an opening at Hogwarts' for him.

Yes, today was shaping up to be a long day and the middle aged man could already feel a headache starting to form. All he could do was hope and wait for news, though he disliked the feeling of helplessness.

- With a birthday in October 1980, he would actually currently be 34.
- At the age of 34, he would have been the year below Harry, which means he would have been at school for a lot of eventful times (Chamber of Secrets, the Triwizard Tournament, etc.) You don't have to add any of that into the history if you don't want to, but it is something to think about! It also means that he was still in school for the Final Battle, was well as being there the entire year that Snape was headmaster and the Carrows were teaching, as he wouldn't have graduated until 1999. If you could just add something about that into the history, then we will be all set to sort!


Once you have changed this, then we will be able to sort James!
