Character History:
Catherine had a relatively normal upbringing and a happy childhood. She got along well with her sister, for the most part, and her parents provided her with more than she needed. She was obedient to the way of life that existed for women. Catherine had been engaged to Nathaniel, to be married the following summer. She had learned to love him already, realizing he was a kindhearted gentleman and someone she was excited to marry.

Cat was always trying to teach her younger sister the ways that things had to be, despite her sister starting to do her own thing. During one of the parties held at their house in 1861, Catherine escorted her intoxicated sister outside before the guests started gossiping, not wanting to bring dishonor onto her parents. Taking the walk outside, they unintentionally walked into a situation that changed their lives forever.

There were two vampires in a nearby alley, feeding on a couple. As they were already feeding, they were not as thirsty, but when they saw the girls walking by they turned to them instead.

The girls don’t know to this day why the vampire turned them—perhaps because they were bored, or their bitterness toward humans had made them want to have someone else suffer as they did. Immediately upon turning, they realized that they could no longer go home, as it would be too much of a danger to their family. They wanted to get as far away as possible so that they were not found, so they began their travels to leave the country.

For half a century, the girls lived mostly apart of the Muggle and Wizarding world alike, doing research on vampires and trying to find more of them. In order to feel less like monsters, the pair made a consorted effort to only feed off of people who deserved it – criminals, cheaters, and the like. Eventually, they decided to check up on their parents to see how they were faring, only to hear the devastating news. It was harder on Ellanora than on Catherine, the latter feeling it was her responsibility to be strong for her sister.

It was this event that changed Ellanora for the worst, in Catherine’s eyes. Though, Catherine’s mindset wasn’t so far off because she was angry about losing family and being stuck as misunderstood vampires. Catherine began to become very bitter towards the wizarding community as they had rejected them during their time of need and they were now feared monsters. Ellanora was the first to decide that it was time to start living as they were “born” to do now, feeding off more than just the criminals. They quickly came of the same mind that no one was “good”. Catherine developed the sense of “survival of the fittest”, comparing them to the sharks of the sea. “No one gets into a hissy fit when the sharks eat other animals”, she will say. They had to eat and humans were just their food choice to satisfy their needs. All living beings are animals, in her mindset. It was nothing more complex than that. Catherine still focuses on her education, trying to find some way to pass the time during the day while they are in hiding.

They travelled a lot throughout the years, not wanting anyone to notice their lack of aging. They had finally stopped living in recluse, and began to be around in public more, at night of course.

Now, they are back in England for the first time since they fled 154 years ago. Much to Catherine’s distaste, Ellanora has become quite adamant about making life difficult here, causing Catherine to constantly scold her sister, fearing for her safety out of her lewd and reckless behavior. Though, she still loves her sister dearly and would gladly kill anyone who became the slightest of a threat to her. After all, her sister was the only person who mattered to her anymore, everyone else they know having died long ago.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? This is not something of interest to Catherine in the slightest. The wizarding community can take care of their own battles and perhaps, leave more open victims for her and her sister.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? The reign and the death of Voldemort was after her time as a human and hence, she couldn’t care less about what happened. It was beyond her interests, as long as it didn’t touch her sister. Catherine doesn’t care much about what happens to others in the magical community when they seem to fear and despise vampires, anyways.

Family
Parents: Benedict Paul and Sarah Louise Bosworth
Siblings: Ellanora Grace (forever 25)
Children: Do not bring this up to the blonde vampire as it can be a touchy subject that she is incapable of bearing children
Partner: None
Other Relevant Family: None
Family History:
Benedict and Sarah were in the same social status growing up, though they did not know each other very well. Their parents arranged a marriage for the pair and luckily for them, love did grow between them within their first year of marriage.

Benedict had a job as a naval officer in order to provide for his family. Sarah was a witch, Hogwarts-trained and all, but was happy enough living amongst Muggles. She stayed at home with no job, but after their daughters were born within three years of each other, she found that she was well suited to motherhood and was happy staying at home with them.

For the most part, they had a happy family life, with only the occasional dramatics—usually acting out on the part of Ellanora. The night that their daughters both disappeared in 1867 marked the downward spiral of Benedict and Sarah’s relationship.

Sarah fell into a deep depression for many years, never so much as leaving the house for anything other than errands. Benedict threw himself into his work, unsure how to comfort his wife and unable to accept that his daughters were gone.

He died in the Battle of Pacocha in 1877, only ten years after his daughters went missing. After that, Sarah was never seen in public again, her depression keeping her bedridden almost constantly. It is said that she killed herself sometime in the year 1878, though no one knows exactly when.

Other: She is bitter against magic
