Character History:

Emmaline arrived into the world one cloudy, late summer day. She was, essentially, the miracle baby her parents had been striving for. As an infant, she was fairly quiet and rarely fussy, often content to simply be held whenever possible. When her parents found themselves expecting again, she enthused over her new status as an older sister and demanded that she help prepare. Never a more doting sister there ever was.

Her brother arrived a few scant weeks after her third birthday, and she grinned for the next three days straight. Unfortunately, tragedy struck their small family barely two months later: Georgia passed in her sleep one perfectly average day. Emma hardly understood the concept of death at so young an age, but she vowed then and there that she would be as much of a mother to her brother as she could.

Emmaline's powers showed themselves in such a nondescript and completely inconspicuous way that her father nearly missed the event entirely. But then, that's how everything happened with Emma. When her Hogwarts letter arrived, she was torn between elation at the prospect of seeing the castle, and devastating nerves at the idea of leaving her brother on his own.

Now, three years later, she anxiously awaits the day her brother joins her at the school.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? She's a bit young, so she doesn't really know how their being treated. Her father's kept her fairly isolated from those sorts of things.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? Emma wasn't even alive at the time, but her parents were, having gone to school around the time of Harry Potter. They're rather glad he's dead, to be honest.

Family History:
James and Georgia were Hogwarts sweethearts, best-friends since day one. They married two years after they'd graduated, and almost immediately began trying for a child. Unfortunately, they miscarried three times before Georgia called a halt to their attempts and fell into a depression. It took a few years of therapy before she felt more herself, though she was still reluctant to try for a child again. James was patient with his wife, equally devastated that they couldn't grow the family they'd always wanted.

By thirty, they decided to try adoption and filled out the paperwork diligently. A few years later saw them accepted as adoptive parents. Then Georgia found herself unexpectedly expecting. With hearts in their throats, they decided to wait things out and see if this one actually took before they actually adopted.

Nine months later their miracle entered the world and they couldn't believe their eyes. Three years later brought another and they couldn't believe their sudden luck.

Georgia's death hit James hard. He did his best to stay strong for his kids, both under the age of four, but he barely slept most nights. A cursory medical examination of Georgia's body revealed a minor infection of her heart, likely the cause for her many pregnancy troubles.

Ten years later, shows them much recovered, though James still looks at his daughter as if he's seeing his wife sometimes.
