Appearance and Personality
General Appearance: Spiridon stands at 6’2, lean and muscular. He has gray eyes that can look green or blue depending on the lighting. His hair is brown and is usually swept back carelessly or in a bit of a disarray. He walks with his shoulders back and chest forward with perfect posture. His strides are calculated and smooth, though even given this it is not uncommon to see a crooked grin on his face.

Skills: Dueling, messing around and fixing muggle modes of transportation, defense against the dark arts, critical thinking.
Weaknesses: Gambling is a big one, though not in a monetary sense. Any dare or challenge he is offered he cannot turn down regardless of how insane it may be. He has a hard time saying ‘no’ to someone in need which can often get him in trouble.

Character History:

Spiridon was born in Moscow on December 18, 1980. He spent a month in the hospital after delivery due to complications due to being a month premature. He lived in the large city most of his life with very little. His family did not have a great deal of money though his childhood was happy and he wasn’t aware of their financial situation until he was older. His parents were always loving and compassionate though his father worked long hours as a muggle police officer for the city. It wasn’t uncommon for him to work double and triple shifts on a regular basis. His mother was the glue that kept everything together. It was rare to see her without a smile on her face.

Spiridon started showing magic around five years old. There were odd occurrences that it seemed no one could explain which concerned his mother slightly, though she brushed them off with her ever present optimistic personality. When he received his letter from Durmstrang it all seemed to finally make sense. While his father was a little uneasy at first he warmed up quickly as did his mother. They were very supportive and excited for him. Of course they were still concerned on occasion since they knew very little about the magical world. Spiridon was an average student though often got in trouble for his actions as a typical class clown. He had always been extremely social, getting along with most people. Granted he also got in trouble for fighting as he had a low tolerance for bullying and often felt the need to protect his friends and anyone in general.

In his fifth year of school his father was shot and killed during a stake out. He took the news hard and decided it was his turn to pick up where his father left off in law enforcement. His father was very much his hero and he was driven to be just like him. Upon graduating he immediately went into training as an auror. A few years into being an auror his mother was diagnosed with leukemia. The prognosis was grim though she survived for several years with it before passing.

In 2011 he met his now ex-wife, Tasha, at a bar in Moscow. He had originally had plans with his partner though that fell through. She was in a bad place in an abusive relationship and had taken her under his wing. Within a few months he had helped her get out of the situation, and began dating her. Things went really well in the beginning though his best friends, Persephone and Nikolai, told him they felt something was off with her. He brushed it off as Tasha still dealing with remnants of her previous relationship. In 2013 his mother lost her battle with cancer and he decided life was too short not to make the most of it. A few months later he and Tasha were married. Only a few months into the marriage things went wrong as during a stake out with his female partner Persephone, Tasha sought the pair out having a fit as she thought they were sleeping together. The case was ruined and things became violent as both Spiridon and his partner ended up having to fight off the people they had been investigating with both being hit by a few nasty hexes. Both had to be treated and put on rest for a few days unable to work.

Spiridon left Tasha so enraged over what she had done only to return when she set up a ploy to make it look like their home had been ransacked and someone had attacked her. He foolishly believed her. Things continued to worsen as time went on, but the straw that broke the camel’s back was when his old partner and best friend was stabbed, almost dying in the process, and Tasha starting having fits over him going to the hospital to check on him and give support to Nikolai’s wife. Shortly after his friends left for England he filed for divorce. After a nasty few months of getting everything finalized he decided to stay in London with his friends and transferred as an auror from Russia to England. He is currently trying to get his life back together and starting new.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? Spiridon lived in Russia during this time and had heard very little about this. Though he is disgusted by the mere thought that purebloods are treated as they are seeing as one of his closest friend is pureblood. He thinks Death Eaters are something entirely different and had little compassion for them.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? While Spiridon was not directly affected by Voldemort and heard little about it was still a relief to know such a horrible dark wizard was dead and to never hurt another person again.

Family History:
Dima Rykovsky was born and raised in the projects of Moscow, born to a teenage mother and an alcoholic father. He was the oldest of four children. He spent most of his childhood watching his father abuse his mother as well as himself and his siblings. His life revolved around protecting his mother and siblings. On one occasion when he was merely eight years old his father went on such a rampage that his mother needed to be hospitalized. That day an officer came to their home, seeing Dima badly hurt from trying to protect his mother and hugged him telling him how brave he was. He had never been told such things and he began to cry as he proceeded to tell him that he was proud of the young boy. He was so appreciative of the man he became a hero to him and he decided right then and there he wanted to be just like him.

Eventually he and his siblings were split up among other family members, he with his maternal grandparents. They loved and encouraged him to follow his dreams which he did going into law enforcement the moment he graduated feeling his purpose was to protect those that couldn’t protect themselves. It was during that time that he was called to a domestic dispute in which his future wife’s brother had attacked his girlfriend and Raisa was the one trying to protect the girlfriend. This hit home and they quickly became friends as their childhoods were eerily similar. A year later they were happily married and had their first and only child, Spiridon. Times were still rough for them but they instilled the same loving and protective traits upon him.
