Appearance and Personality
General Appearance: 5'9 and athletic from years of training though still maintains feminine curves. She has long, dark, wavy hair that she typically wears loose, and dark brown eyes. A majority of her body is tattooed and she shows them proudly.

Skills: Dueling, quick thinking, conflict resolution, agility, works well under pressure
Weaknesses: Family seeing as that is exceptionally important to her to the point where she would do anything for them. Her career is a big weakness as well. She is almost incapable of saying no when assignments are offered to her regardless of what consequences may come of it.
Positive Personality Traits: Loyal, loving, protective, humorous, dedicated, realistic, cunning.
Negative Personality Traits: Exceptionally stubborn and impulsive (which gets her in trouble frequently). While she will never lie outright she has a tendency to tell half-truths if she believes it's in a person's best interest not to know everything.
Hobbies and Interests: Spell work, dueling, studying random subjects when the mood hits her.
Character History:

Persephone is the youngest and only daughter to Vito DiTraverso and Contessa DiTraverso (nee Ricci). Persephone was born on a hot summer day seven years after her older brother Giovanni. Being a pureblood during the reign of Voldemort left her family with very little worry because of that status, though her family frequently hid away muggleborn families and friends to keep them safe. It took the family by surprise that she was sorted into Slytherin seeing as most of their family seemed to fall into Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. This made her school days up until a year before that final battle cozy as being pureblood and a snake worked in her favor. The year before the battle she couldn’t sit by any longer and began to work alongside those in Dumbledore’s Army using her cunning at only fourteen years old to avoid suspicion.

Things went downhill quickly for purebloods and Death Eaters after the trials, as now there was a stigma growing around being either. Her family was never attacked directly, but she felt it important to be able to protect her family, especially her new two year old niece. She began training as an auror straight out of school which caused problems within the family as they worried about her getting killed by putting herself in harm’s way with her blood status. All she cared about was protecting them all regardless of how upset it made them.

Eventually her family warmed up to her career choice, not that she ever told them just how intense things were getting with radicals starting to sprout up everywhere hell bent on making Death Eaters and purebloods pay for ‘what they did’. It was not to last as in 2009 Persephone was offered an opportunity to do specialty training in Russia, which she accepted. The training was to only be for a couple of years. She promised her brother and neice that she would be back in England in time to see her niece, bells, off at the train station for her very first day at Hogwarts.

Her first year in Russia she, quite unconventionally, met her husband after a few too many figuring she would never see him again. Less than a year later they met again only this time they were introduced to each other as ‘partners’ to work a private detail on a prominent family, though she was outwardly aggravated by his presence seeing as she was now forced to face the past indecent meeting. This was the year she was supposed to be back in England though the detail was so sensitive she couldn’t even Owl her family until things calmed down. The family detail ended in a little over a year, and a few months later the two were exclusive. She finally got back in touch with her family who were absolutely livid at this point, her brother refusing to speak to her for going back on her promise to be home before her niece started school. Only a couple of years later she got word that one of her nephews died in an unfortunate accident. The Russian auror department was severely understaffed and had chaos breaking out all over. Persephone was able to slip off to England just long enough to pay her respects, kiss her family members, and head right back to work in Russia. This further enraged her family seeing as she did not stay for a longer period of time.

Persephone married Nikolai a year or so later on a whim in Oct of 2014 though they had been together for a couple of years prior, and worked as partners for longer than that. A few months after the marriage Persephone got word that her brother’s family had been attacked by radicals, and the only survivor was her niece. Devastated and enraged Persephone wanted to leave immediately though she was now keeping watch on an important politician and had to wait to be relieved of duty. The soonest they could get replacements was the morning of the funeral which worked fine seeing as she could get to England rather quickly with magic. The evening before the funeral she was doing a routine sweep of the politician’s house, while Nikolai did his usual perimeter check. When Nikolai didn’t return back to the house in a timely manner she went out looking for him only to find him laying out on the grass, stabbed and bleeding profusely. Since they were working in a muggle area of the city police and muggle medical assistance were called before she could even try to use magic to right some of the injuries. The injuries were so serious that it took almost a solid month in the muggle hospital before Nikolai could be released. The first few nights in the hospital she refused to leave his side, fearful that he wouldn’t make a turn around. Persephone never made it to her brother’s funeral, and now her niece was just floating around since Persephone was the one that was to take custody of her.

She and her husband packed up as soon as he was released and moved to England in the middle of February. While she was invited to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, she also continued to keep her post as an auror doubling as extra security for Hogwarts in case something extreme were to happen with the treatment of pureblood and Death Eaters reaching its breaking point. At present she is trying to repair her relationship with her niece, being supportive of her husband who was forced out of his career because of his injuries, and making it a personal endeavor to protect the rest of her family and finding the extremists that killed her brother's family.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? Persephone is very much for equality, not only because of her blood status but because of everything she has seen during her career. She does not believe it is right to dehumanize anyone for something they did not have control over, nor those that had control. Punishment is not the same as stripping a person of their basic human rights. The death of her family was all because of the equality issue which she is determined to help right.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? During the reign of Voldemort her family hid away families and muggleborn friends to keep them safe, though they did occasionally fear they would be found out. Her father was the one that worried the most causing everyone else to be a bit uneasy during that time. After the death of Voldemort there was a sense of relief, though as the years went by and the stigma of purebloods came into play things became slightly more ‘dangerous’ and conflicting as the family fought to keep everything they had in possessions and spirit.

Family History:
Vito DiTraverso was born in a small town in Italy. He shared a large home consisting of his father's parents, his mother's parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. They were a wealthy family that wanted for nothing though they all worked hard to maintain it. Vito and his siblings were raised to know what it meant to put in a hard days work as their parents believed it made one a well rounded individual. When Vito was 5 his paternal grandmother fell seriously ill, and in an attempt to keep her healthy and alive the family moved to London to get better medical care. While the healers did their best work she sadly passed less than five years after they had moved. Vito's older brother had already started at hogwarts so they family stayed put not wanting to uproot the family again.

Contessa Ricci was born to an impoverished pureblood family in Sicily barely able to make it by day to day. Her father had a gambling issue that he was unable to get a handle on, losing what wealth they had when Contessa was but a newborn. Her mother was a nervous wreck unable to cope with her father and his issues. She left when Contessa was around 8 years old and disappeared without a trace. Her father was so desperate for money he used their blood status to get in touch with Vito's father to arrange a marriage between the pair.

At that time things were just starting to heat up with purist beliefs and Vito's father felt it was probably best to agree to it. Contessa moved to London right after she graduated school. Upon first meeting things seemed to click almost immediately making a quick marriage and the beginning of their family a smooth transition. They built a large home in the country and built on the strong family value's Vito's family had started. Contessa's father had died shortly after their marriage and she has still not had contact with her mother though assumes her to be deceased.
