Appearance and Personality
General Appearance: Aside from the general translucent nature of his kind, Caellach was approximately 6' 3" in life. He wears an old, worn kilt with his clan colors and sports a sword at his side. If he were in color, his hair would be a dark blonde and his eyes a dark blue. He has a wide smile and the lines around his eyes to show frequent use of it.

Character History:

Caellach (pronounced KEL-uch) was born one fine spring day. As the baby of seven, he was much loved and looked after. He was perpetually smiling as a child, and charmed the ladies (and men too) even then. Growing up the youngest son of a wealthy laird provided him with a great deal of freedom and the privilege to use it. He loved watching the soldiers spar and began his own training as soon as he could.

When not sparring, Caellach could often be found exploring the land and climbing trees. He never lacked for bed-partners throughout his life, but never entered a committed relationship.

At the age of 38, while in battle with both swords and wands, he was struck down. Thankfully, he pulled through, or at least mostly. It was near the end of his recovery, shortly after his thirty-ninth birthday that he came down with an illness. The sickness ravaged his system, leaving him weak and bedridden in a matter of days. Stubborn as he was, Caellach refused to die anywhere other than a battlefield, but it seems Fate had other ideas. Not two months after coming down with the illness, Caellach died.

As opposed to death as he was, it was little surprise that he came back as a ghost. Throughout the generations, Caellach watched it all as his brother's descendants married and had children. As they aged and died. He floated about the castle for some time, until the family moved on to apparently greener pastures and left the place to the forces of nature. Incorporeal as he was, he couldn't do anything to stop the old stones from falling and crumbling to dust. Lonely and without a home, Caellach moved himself to Hogwarts where he knew there were others of his kind.

He's been there for nearly half a century now, though he visits the ruins of his childhood home once a year. Caellach keeps mostly to the Gryffindor tower, though he does venture out to watch the occasional game of Quidditch when the mood strikes.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? He doesn't concern himself with the politics of the living, but he has heard rumors of the abysmal treatment of Death Eaters and thinks it's rather harsh.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? He was long dead at the time, so he wasn't really affected.

Family History:
The McDearmons were an old clan, though not a very large one. They kept mostly to themselves except to help their neighbors in the occasional battle when needed. Lenora was a daughter of a nearby family that Boisil fell in love with and eventually married. They were a happy pair, and loved all of their children equally.

Caelan married an Englishwoman (much to his parents' dismay) and had three sons and a daughter. They all knew the story of Caellach, and any who didn't quickly learned it. However, as times changed the family slowly trickled out until they were all gone to do their own thing.
