Character History:
Jessica Lily Gray was born to Jane and Phillip Gray two loving and devoted parents, in Liverpool and is an only child. She was not spoiled by her parents by any means. They lived in a small flat in the city center, , where her father was a teacher and her mother was a nurse. Although they were busy and worked a lot they always took time to spend with Jessica. She never liked primary school and was bullied for being ‘strange’ because she liked reading but she tried to ignore it. She had no extended family so it was only the three of them.
When she was six she started showing signs of magic and was terrified that what was going to happen to her. As far as she was concerned things like that only happened in books or films. When she was nine she accidentally sent one of her bullies half way across the playground, it was this that made her tell her parents and made even more isolated at school. Her parents didn’t know what to say and so told her everything was going to be fine. Just before her tenth birthday the letter came and she was so excited to sit down with her parents and a teacher from the school. Even if her parents were shocked, confused and happy all at once.
When Jessica started Hogwarts she found it difficult to settle, she felt out of place surrounded by students who knew all about the world that she had just entered. They knew each other and knew all about what lessons they were going to take. They had siblings there already who could help them. She found the first term hard as she was learning everything from scratch the professors seemed to, at time assume that they knew some of it already. She spent many late nights sat in her dorms common room studying to try and catch up with her peers. She had never felt so alone. By her second year however she was much more confident in herself and her work. She made friends and felt less isolated in the new world she had entered. With each year that passed this feeling of confidence increased until she had a handful of friends that she could rely on.
Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? As a muggleborn she does not understand everything. she has some reading on the subject and feels that it is wrong that the family's especially the children are treated that way. However she thinks that if you knew what you were doing and knew you are hurting people then you deserve to be punished, (within reason).
How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? Her family were not effected by Voldemort or his followers.

Family History:Jane Gray (nee Cassidy) was born in Ireland, her parents died in a fire when she was 12 and was then placed in an orphanage. Phillip Gray was born in Liverpool and lived in a two up, two down with his mum and dad. When they were 18 they both went to university, this is where they met. Both went to Liverpool University, Phillip stayed at home with his mum and dad and Jane stayed on campus living in dorms with a number of other people. They met at a fresher’s party at her dorm and became good friends. Phillip showed her around Liverpool, taking her on the ferry and to the docks and to the museums and to see the Liver Birds. They met up over the summer when he went to Ireland to visit her.
By second year they were officially a couple and in third year she had moved in with him and his parents. When they had both finished their course they stayed with his parents until they were financially settled and could get a place of their own. They moved out when they were 24 and had been married for a year. They bought the flat that they still live in then and were very happy. Within a year of each other Phillip’s parents died, they thought about living in the house again but decided against it and decided to rent it out instead. A year later Jessica was born and they couldn’t have been happier.

Roleplay Sample
When Jessica and her parents arrived at Diagon Alley for the fist time the summer of 2011, they were stunned by what they saw. It was like no street they had ever seen before; it was so bright and colourful, loud and busy. Jessica was overwhelmed by the entire thing. The first thing they did was go to the bank which the Hogwarts teacher called Gringotts and was run by Goblins. Jessica had read about Goblins in books and they were never nice creatures. Once they had changed some money and had had the different types of money explained to them they could go and get everything on the list for first year.
First stop robes, then potion ingredients, then stationary. Jessica and her mum spent ages looking at all the quills and parchment and ink, (they loved stationary shops) her dad stayed by the door watching them with a smile on his face. After that they went and got her animal, as they live in a flat they decided on a cat as it would not look out of place unlike an owl or toad. Then books, this was the bit the Jessica was most looking forward too.
The smell of the shop was incredible, she loved the smell of old book shops and this was a prime example of one. Once she had found all the books on her reading list she had a look at all the other books excited at the prospect of reading and learning about what they contained. Her parents practically had to drag her way form the place to go and have a drink and ice cream. The rest of the day passed in a blur of more shopping for everything that she was going to need. She slept very well that night.
