General Appearance: Gemma is the type of person that gets noticed in a crowd. She is very sure of herself and likes to present her best face to the public at all times, so she comes off as very hard to approach to people who don't know her. She has learned throughout the years how to hide her nervous habits, portraying a calm demeanor when she is anxious. She is 5'7", 125lbs, and slender. She has long, dark hair, and brown eyes.

Weaknesses: Horrible alcohol tolerance. Sometimes she still has moments where she catches herself being manipulative like she was in school. She is absolutely appalling at cooking, potentially the worse cook in the world. Her stubbornness can cause a lot of fights, and she comes off very intimating and hard to approach. Her moodiness is something that she considers a weakness, and something that she is trying to change.

Character History:

Gemma's family was very cautious due to Voldemort's rising power as Gemma and her brothers grew up, and with good reason. Unfortunately, Gemma's older brother died in the Battle of Hogwarts, a younger year caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. This greatly affected the entire family, causing strain and sadness in the family.

Gemma began Hogwarts after Voldemort had been defeated, and the school was still trying to regain stability. However, that didn't stop her from having the best school years that she possibly could. She was sorted into Slytherin, and made friends (her definition of friendship at least) with many people in her house. To her, friendship with blokes was what they could do for her, and she thought similarly about the bints in the school as well. For instance, she would befriend prefects to get access to their exclusive baths, and to learn their patrolling schedules. She had two close friends in her house, Kenna and Gwen, and as the years went by in school, all three of them did gain ... reputations. It was due to this reputation, that Gemma had a rather interesting meeting with Dorian during a detention, that resulted in a three year relationship. This relationship was very tumultuous, with a lot of fighting, passive aggression, and attempts at making the other jealous. When they had good times, they had very good times, but when they were bad... it was very bad. At the beginning of Gemma's seventh year, her father was murdered, though there wasn't much information given about the crime. It came to her years later, as the crimes against purebloods began and grew, that he had been killed by a radical, which was unfair as far as Gemma was concerned, as he was a pureblood but as far from a Death Eater as it was possible to be. It was at this time that Gemma's mother went missing as well.

Dorian and Gemma's relationship ended about a year after they had graduated Hogwarts, and since Gemma wasn't happy with the job that she had gotten right out of Hogwarts (Improper Use of Magic Office), she quit and took a few years to travel. Unfortunately, it was during time that the estrangement also really continued to grow between her and her remaining brothers, who were not happy that she had just up and left, when they had wanted to go and try to find their mother that was still missing. This estrangement has really only grown and her brothers do not currently speak to her still.

After she had finished traveling, she returned to England and got a new job. Since the wounds had healed from the very tumultuous relationship with Dorian, the two were able to retain a close friendship that others judged slightly, thinking it odd that exes were able to remain friends.

Years went by like this, and Gemma casually dated and worked, and remained friends with Dorian, and her brothers continued to not talk to her. However, she was content with how everything was going really, putting 110% into work and excelling well there.

It was only in December that Gemma and Dorian unintentionally rekindled their relationship after a few too many on Dorian's birthday. This resulted in them getting back together, which has really only caused Gemma to wonder how they had gone so long without dating again in any case.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? Gemma has experienced loss firsthand from Death Eaters, as one of them is the reason that her brother is dead, though it was never known which Death Eater had killed him. She thinks that at first, hard labor in attempts to restore the Wizarding World was an apt punishment for the crimes of many of the Death Eaters, simply because it was helpful and not just a mindless punishment. However, especially when she realized why her father was killed, she was unsure of what to think. She had lost family from both sides of the equation now, her brother from a Death Eater, and her father from radicals that disliked purebloods. Now, she is just frustrated by the entire situation.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? Gemma was brought up by parents that were extremely cautious due to everything that was going on, even though they weren't anyone that was going to be necessarily targeted by Voldemort. However, they were greatly affected by his reign when James was killed, even if it also came at the death of Voldemort as well. They were glad that his reign was over, but devastated by the loss of their son/brother.

Family History:

Victor Prescott went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Hufflepuff, and it was there that he met Kennedy, a halfblood witch. They began to date in their seventh year of Hogwarts, getting married after three years of dating. Their first son was James, born when the pair was 24, followed by Gemma, Tood, and finally Hale, who had been a surprise.

They were very concerned as Voldemort's power began to rise, moving into the Muggle world to live for a while to see if anything was going to die down. However, it was clear that wouldn't work forever, since their children were all showing signs of magic, obviously. The family remained cautious though, in the Muggle world until James got his Hogwarts letter. Even then, they were wary, and unfortunately Victor and Kennedy's worries came to fruition when James was killed during the final battle at Hogwarts.

Then, in Gemma's 7th year, her father was murdered, and very little information as known about it and the Aurors had no idea who had killed him or why. Her mother also went missing on that day, and no one has seen her since. It was only years later that Gemma realized that her father had been killed by radicals that hated purebloods.

Once her youngest brother had graduated Hogwarts, he and Todd wanted to go and look for their mother, to see if they could find her. However, Gemma chose to deny this, figuring that their mother had left them by choice in any case, and not seeing a reason to go on a wild goose chase when they had no idea if she even wanted to be found. This has caused a separation between her and her brothers. Todd and Hale did search for their mother for quite some time, and it did end up being incredibly unsuccessful. They do not speak to Gemma to this day.
