skills
(a very good front), numbers, spatial reasoning, copying the way others move and talk, Transfiguration, being her sister, torturing people
weaknesses
she is a carrow; she has none
(claustrophobia. In small tight spaces, she's back to the Battle of Hogwarts, locked up for her House and name, not knowing if she was going to live or die. with other people it's worse. she doesn't mind wide-open spaces where she's tightly packed in with people) (her father's death in the work camps.)
(her mother.)
(her not-quite-fear of her aunt alecto and uncle amycus)
positive traits
Ambitious, articulate, conscientious, constant, flexible, focused, methodical, neat, observant, romantic, well-read-and-well-bred
negative traits
Brittle, calculating, conformist, codependent (though with hestia only), inhibited, melancholic, neurotic, prim, repressed, resentful, sly
hobbies/interests
hestia, taking care of hestia, dropping everything for hestia.
outside of Hestia, the Adria Hotel, imitations, older curses. . .and the way muscles move underneath skin, of course. though she would prefer there to be no pesky skin to hinder the observations.
accomplishments
Hestia. The Adria.

character history
Flora is the elder twin, as she'll happily remind Hestia. Hestia showed magic first, but Flora was the first to breathe air. That was starting to be the end of Flora's firsts, however; Hestia was the first to have her wand choose her, the first the be noticed by professors, the first to be noticed by others. Flora never minded any of that-- Hestia was her sister, and Hestia loved her and she loved Hestia-- that was all that was important. They were identical twins-- they had at one time been a single being, and they wouldn't let becoming two separate them anymore than little firsts and lasts.

Like many of families of. . .some standing (after all, though her father held a high place in the Ministry there were those who didn't believe the Imperius Curse reasoning), she attended the Quidditch World Cup. She had no true feelings on whichever team to root for, and was happy to just be there. When the Dark Mark was thrown up, the air in her family definitely changed. Her mother was almost happy, kinder to her daughters than she typically was. Their father was four years home from Azkaban, four years into the Ministry, and at times Flora found herself still reeling from the turnaround at times.

She started Hogwarts with her sister, Sorted first into Slytherin, and twisted her fingers under the table as the Hat seemed to take hours on her sister's blonde head. When it finally announced the House they were expected to go into, Flora tried not to pull too much attention to herself by cheering overloudly-- Aeceus had never quite approved of noise, after all. The year had been interesting, save for the DADA classes when the professor seemed to have some sort of-- personal dislike, it seemed-- for their father, who had served his time. She noticed Hestia's eyes sliding towards the Hufflepuffs that year as they pinned on their Cedric Diggory badges, and when the boy died at the end of the year, Flora was unsure if she was pleased or not when Saint Potter screamed that the long-dead Dark Lord was back.

Her second year, Flora was frustrated in the lack of magic available. Well, that wasn't quite accurate. She was frustrated in what they were being taught. Theory was all very well and good-- Flora quite enjoyed theory, herself--but when the theory was as flawed as the theory they were taught, it was useless. Flora wrote home to ask for suggestions, only to receive a letter to ask Alecto and Amycus. Flora didn't ask for any advice again-- her father's siblings had always scared her, for all that they had not (to her knowledge) hurt her nor hated her. In her Third year as the Ministry acknowledged Voldemort's return, Professor Slughorn invited Hestia and Flora to the Slug Club. They were two of the the younger (if not the youngest) members of the club. Later that year, the old Headmaster died, and Flora kept quiet when Hestia mentioned that Father's siblings had been spotted in battle. She wouldn't think anything of them until things shifted further.

Shift they did. Within a month or two, Flora's parents began to have long Talks to Alecto and Amycus that Flora was not to listen to. Things roared up when Pius Thicknesse took over the Ministry, and suddenly there was a Change again. Her father's cousins started teaching, and Hestia started growing closer to her again. Flora wasn't a Carrow for nothing--she wasn't some quivering mass of flinching flesh-- so when Hestia grew closer to the cousins Flora had feared, Flora did her own research into curses, into Dark Magic. Old books, after all, had the most fascinating curses that were half-forgotten. It was easier to slip on her sister's mannerisms to ask for permission to go into the Restricted Section than to ask her cousins as herself-- she'd always felt braver in Hestia's skin. By the time Hestia grew wary of private lessons with their relatives, Flora had amassed a collection of books to pore over with her sister.

At the end of the year, Potter ruined it all by coming back. He showed up in Flora's school, and McGonagall sent all Slytherins through some small and cramped tunnel to escape the fight going on. But they were young-- they couldn't Disapparate yet, and none of the older students had offered to help them, so they were stuck with others in the Hog's Head. Fora spent hours not knowing if she was going to be killed for her name, if they'd be caught in a crossfire, if the ceiling would come down on their heads, the walls exploded in on them, not knowing if her parents were alive or dead. All she had was Hestia, and Hestia was the one thread keeping her from trying to blast open walls with her wand and her head, keeping her from clawing at the pub's walls in desperation. She tried sinking inside of her head, into the back of her mind.

They lost, and for all of Flora and Hestia's young ages, for all that Flora had sought out her cousins only for signatures as Hestia, for all that Hestia was clinging to her, they were hated by other students. She was the older sister, she had to take care of Hestia. (hestia saw her as the more fragile twin, and wanted to take care of her). She'd had a good name previously-- if one tinged with suspicion and the ghost of fear-- and it had been enough to pull acquaintances. After the war, the tune had changed; it was Slytherins from similar clawing themselves out of scorn, trying to pull themselves together. Flora could only trust Hestia then-- after all, if they remembered the books Flora was reading, if they remembered the spells she practiced, that was something that could be turned over that others could use to wedge themselves higher, climbing over her body for a half-an-inch-higher place.

She continued her school, keeping her head down in all but her OWLs and NEWTs. She said nothing and barely let herself emote when Alecto and Amycus were sent to Azkaban, as situations grew . .different. She went to Lufkin, studied Business Management-- a harmless enough career, as a Healer who helped could turn to killing as easily, and who would trust a Carrow? Her mother found her a boy from a likely family-- still pureblood, still right-minded-- but that fell through when her father was sent to the work camps. It didn't bother her all-to--much, as with all men of age in Azkaban, Flora was able to claim what Carrow gold she was entitled to and buy the Adria Hotel, with Hestia's support.
well. Hestia might have persuaded the sale, but it was true all the same.

In 2011, things happened again. They were taxed again and again, and even after Flora had tried all the tricks she'd known (and briefly considered a career as a woman of the night) she came rather quickly to understand that she had to sell her hotel. The money she was able to save after taxes went to trying to help out what she could-- she'd brought the hotel with Carrow gold and Carrow threats, after all-- which was able to keep them out of some of the ramshackle places other families were reduced to.

Her father died in 2016, in the work camp fires. Flora was unsurprised to find that she didn't quite care-- but Hestia did, and Hestia was furious. She spent months trying to restrain her sister, and that was when things changed again, and Durant was thrown down--
with foreigners thrown up in his place. Right-minded purebloods, perhaps, with the support of Death Eaters, but foreigners all the same. Hestia went out one day, and returned with the bill of sale of the Adria made out in Flora's name once more.

family history
What happens when two purist lines coincide? Atropos Warrington was the younger sister of Caesar and Claudius Warrington. Atropos thought that she was better than her cowardly oldest brother, but she had little social skills and never was able to gather up as many people as he was. While he grew powerful and renown, she was bitter and easily irritable. Her parents didn't know what to do with her, she scared away every man that her cousin tried to bring over and the ones that her parents thought would suit her.

They got along well because of their names, both being Greek and deities. Atropos was controlling but that didn't bother Aecus. They were engaged quickly when it was decided that they wouldn't kill each other, and their relationship was mainly based off of friendship rather than anything else. Atropos fit in well with the rest of the Carrows. They had the same beliefs, the same skills, and the same interests. Of course, she was hoping to have a boy so that she could end up with an heir at some point, but they had two girls. Atropos hated motherhood so much that she told Aecus that they were done- they had two children and that was it. Neither girl was going to inherit anything in the future but she was glad that she was done.

Smallest of details -- and I could very well be wrong but I did do a quick skim of Deathly Hallows. Though Minerva had the Slytherin students locked in the dungeons in the movie, I believe in the book they are just evacuated. Feel free to double check that and see if you come to that conclusion with me. And then she can be sorted once that's changed :D
