General Appearance: This dark beauty has large, round, brown eyes with dark brown, long hair. She stands at 5’8 at 120 lbs. Kahina more glides, than walks, portraying an air about her in confidence. She is 100% confident in her ability. This woman is typically always smiling, saying hello to everyone she passes. If she is carrying papers, they are usually in a disorganized fashion, nearly spilling about as she is too busy greeting people to adjust.

Character History:

Kahina grew up with her mother and grandmother, keeping the name of her birth father so that many would not be able to tie her relation to the infamous seer easily. Her mother and grandmother took on her birth father’s last name as well. They had hid relatively low-key, knowing that Kahina’s ability to be a seer, and being related to a well-known one, would cause many dangers during the reign of Voldemort.

Kahina’s first major vision was when she was 10 and saw Voldemort getting defeated. She hadn’t known much about what was happening but her great-grandmother had taught her a few. The young girl told her mother and grandmother first, and they told her to never speak of it again, afraid that the wrong person may find out and try to capture her again. It wasn’t until after Voldemort’s death that her parents allowed her true identity to be revealed, proud of her as a seer. The same year that Voldemort died, her great-grandmother passed, leaving Kahina to try to figure out her magic on her own. Though, her guardians still had her wait until after graduating Hogwarts before she was able to fully research who she was. Encouraging her to fulfill her dreams, she went in search of more information about this magical ability that she held, wanting to learn everything she possibly could about all of the different ways of foretelling the future. Upon her return from her adventure, she had applied for the position of a Divination professor at her beloved school, wanting to impact the lives of the students who thought less of the subject.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? Kahina has a really, really bad feeling about how things are going, a sense of wickedness appearing in her cards, more or less. Recently, she has been utilizing different methods of foretelling the future, trying to figure out the future of the world and how to protect it from the evil that she can sense brewing. She is uncertain of if the evil is from the ministry or from a darker force, but she feels that it is surrounding the current treatment of death eaters and their families and she simply wants it all to stop, getting back to a healthy balance.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? Kahina had been forced to hide who she really was, a witch with seer magic, in order to protect her life. Though she was young during the reign and death of Voldemort, it had been thought that the Dark Lord was looking for young minds to corrupt as his own and a young seer would have come in handy. She had to change her name along with her mother and grandmother so that no one would associate her with her great-grandmother. Even after his death, they had waited a few years before giving Kahina permission to stop hiding who she was and to accept fully who she was.

Family History:

Cassandra Vablatsky was a celebrated Seer who may have even predicted her own death. She was the author of Unfogging the Future, a Divination textbook required at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her predictions were mostly proved accurate, finding herself the star of many magical beings eyes as they searched to know what was to come. She never found a mate, but simply reproduced with someone to carry on her line of specialized magic, as a prediction had revealed to her. Unfortunately, Pythia, her daughter, had not displayed the ability, causing Cassandra to look down on the witch for her failure. It was to her great displeasure that her granddaughter, Athena, did not display the magic, either. However, she had another vision on the birth of her great-granddaughter, naming her Kahina because the young girl would carry on her magic.

Athena met and fell in love with Jaman during a trip to the muggle world following a fight with her mother. Jaman had been working as a bartender, paying his way through school to become a lawyer and Athena had still been trying to find out who it was she could be. Their union was prohibited by Pythia. Pythia would not allow her daughter to marry someone who did not have seer blood in his system as she was taught of her failure to have it.

Athena and Jaman continued to meet in secret, though Jaman never knew the real reason why. Athena had lied and said that her family was racist and wouldn’t understand their love. Jaman, coming from a foster home, hadn’t minded keeping the relationship a secret as he had really no one to share with.

Only a couple of years after Athena and Jaman had met, they conceived, allowing their secret to be known that they had not ended their relationship as requested. It was only about a month before the birth of their daughter that Athena’s grandmother had a vision of her daughter displaying the specialized magical ability, causing the rift in Pythia’s and Athena’s relationship to mend.

After the birth of their daughter, Jaman had learned of magic, becoming fearful at first of the idea of it. He had disappeared for two years, before finally returning to his family, wanting to be a part of it again. However, only a year after that, he was murdered by a death eater who had wanted to take in his daughter in the hopes of bringing her up in evil to benefit the dark lord. Jaman, a muggle, tried to protect his family to no avail, though he allowed just enough time for Athena to escape with Kahina.
