Character History:

Pius was born to a pureblood wizarding family in Ipswich. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he was sorted into Ravenclaw. In his last year, he interned at the Ministry of Magic as he always knew this was the route he wanted to take due to his strong interest in politics. He also married his long time girlfriend, Rebecca.

Upon graduating, he took a job at the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Transportation working to regulate Portkeys. Shortly after this, he transitioned to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement where he served as part of the Wizengamot. During this time, Rebecca gave birth to their daughter, Norah.

After the head of the department was murdered in 1996 by Voldemort, Pius was made her successor. A year later, he was placed under the Imperius Curse by a Death Eater. Pius had fought to resist the curse, but eventually succumbed to it. While under the curse, Pius was used as Voldemort's puppet to take the ministry down. He also used his previous knowledge from being in the department of magical transportation to entrap Harry Potter in the home of his aunt and uncle.

When Pius was overtaken by the curse, his wife and daughter (who was 17) fled in understanding that Pius "wasn't himself" and they feared for their lives.

Eventually Voldemort and the death eaters brought the ministry down and Pius was made the new Minister of Magic. He was nothing more than a minion carrying out Voldemort's plan and reinforcing a pureblood superiority in the ministry as he was forced to from the curse. The curse allowed him to appear to hate Muggles and "mudbloods."

Pius fought alongside the death eaters in the Battle of Hogwarts where he demonstrated his superb dueling skills. Pius survived and the curse was broken once the death eaters and Voldemort were defeated. Immediately, Pius felt an extreme sense of guilt for succumbing to the will of the death eaters. He also became heavily depressed that his family was missing. He sought out to find them, only to be unsuccessful and go into hiding, essentially becoming a homeless beggar to survive.

He came out of hiding in 2000 due to his trial. Pius was sentenced to the death eater work duty camp, where he was treated horribly. The reign of Voldemort had long ended and people had become desensitized to the idea of the Imperius Curse having control over someone to make them do terrible things they wouldn't normally do. There was no sympathy for Pius and his pureblood background did him no justice. People just saw him as an evil death eater. With how he is treated, he has given up all hopes of finding his family for fear of how they will be treated as the wife and daughter of a death eater.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? As a death eater himself, he finds the treatment of death eaters completely disgusting, appalling, and unfair as it discounts those like him that were cursed.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? Pius was under the Imperius Curse and was essentially Voldemort's ministry puppet as he was forced to do the biding of the Dark Lord. When Voldemort died, he was freed from the curse and no longer forced to do the deeds he really did not desire to do.

Family History:

Tobias was from a pureblood background and of a family that supported blood superiority, although, Tobias never really bought into this. He had attended Hogwarts and was the first in his family to not be sorted into Slytherin, but rather Ravenclaw. However, he did not outwardly say to his family that he did not support the idea that muggle borns were less magical. He strongly wanted to please his family, so he married another pure blood.

Concordia was also from a pureblood family. She was in the Slytherin home and had in mind to marry a pureblood. Concordia's eyes were set on Tobias so she began to flirt and pursue him. Her efforts were obviously successful.

Tobias worked in the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Transportation. Concordia was a housewife and stay-at-home mother once Pius was born.
