Bute Park is a major park in the city, with 130 acres of gardens, that was once the grounds of Cardiff Castle. There is a significant tree collection — over 3,000 tree species, as well as an education centre and three cafes along the grounds. There are many paths, and of course, the Cardiff Castle is in the park. It is considered the “green heart of the city.”
