Bute Park is a major park in the city, with 130 acres of gardens, that was once the grounds of Cardiff Castle. There is a significant tree collection — over 3,000 tree species, as well as an education centre and three cafes along the grounds. There are many paths, and of course, the Cardiff Castle is in the park. It is considered the “green heart of the city.”

Wales produces good cheese — that’s just a fact. Hughes’ Caws is a cheese shop located in the heart of Cardiff. It is well known as a place for a variety of different kinds of cheeses, and is it commonly a busy place. It’s not uncommon for a line to be out the door on the weekends, but it’s well worth the wait to sample of some Hughes’ cheese.

Mermaid Quay is a waterfront shopping and leisure district in Cardiff Bay. It opened in 1999, and has restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. The shops range from stylish to unusual boutiques, fine foods or bar food, and every kind of gift a person could be hoping to find. There’s even a carousel right by the waterfront. It is a lovely place to spend a day, with beautiful views of the water, and many places to eat and shop.

This clothing boutique is something well known to locals of the city. It has well priced clothing, as well as jewelry and other accessories. Most of which is nearly one of a kind, and at the very least can't be found in any other shop in the country. The clothing is made mostly by local designers, and are all well made — the owner has good tastes in what they put into the shop, and everything is good quality despite being made by aspiring designers.

This is a popular vegetarian restaurant in Cardiff. It’s a small and unique little place, but is usually bustling with regulars as well as tourists that want to try something a little different. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and other offerings, as well as smoothies and yogurts for people that need to take something on the go. It uses a large majority of produce grown in Wales, to keep its food as fresh as popular.

The Wales Millennium Centre is the nation’s home for the performing arts, and is situated at the heart of Cardiff Bay. It’s a Muggle centre, obviously, but still offers an extensive program of entertainment. It offers musicals, operas, plays — whatever your tastes, the Wales Millennium Centre has something for you. It is the perfect way to spend a night out in Cardiff, for those that don’t mind being around Muggles, anyway.

Cardiff is the capital of Wales, and a port city on the south coast of the country. It is where the River Taff meets the Severn Estuary. The waterfront at Cardiff Bay is home to the Wales Millennium Centre, as well as many shops at Mermaid Quay. The city offers amazing shopping, museums, dining, and entertainment, and is an easy city to explore on feet. It has recently been gaining popularity as a tourist hot spot, and summer is certainly considered the best time to visit, as there are large festivals.
