Although born into a very close-knit family, at least on her mother’s side, she was surprisingly independent even at a young age. She didn’t want for anything, being the only child of Anne Marie Seymour (nee Parr). Although loved by both of her parents, Cassandra was incredibly close to her mother and the maternal branch of her family. She recalls most of her childhood memories being with her mother, her aunt, and/or her maternal grandparents. Cassandra loved her father, still does, but they have never been as close.
Charles Seymour was never jealous of the relationship she had with the maternal side of her family, fulfilling himself by diving into his work. She was noted early on in life to have that same work ethic, mixed with the courageous outspokenness of her maternal side. She has always been very proud of this fact. When she started at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Gryffindor house. This wasn’t surprising seeing as her mother and her siblings were all Gryffindors as well. Throughout her school years she became more opinionated, her level of speaking out increasing as she aged, and was known to help anyone she could in any way she could think of.
Although she was known to be intelligent when it came to more of the “bookish” areas of study, those that revolved around reading, writing, and research, there was also a creative side to her. It allows her the ability to problem solve in ways that her peers were unable to. Surprisingly, her creative outlet was Herbology; as much as she loved to talk and debate with others, there was something about the silence of plants (most of them, anyway) that allowed her brain to relax and truly expand. After graduating from Hogwarts she enrolled in the Grainneog Institute. She graduated with a degree in Law, combining her love of debating, her problem-solving skills, and her eagerness to help those in need. She was then hired at the law firm of Cavanaugh & Slagle. It was after her graduation that she was able to have a more significant involvement in the OOTP. Although they all (herself included) had always looked forward to the day she could join them, her family implored her to finish her studies first. They knew that the OOTP would take precedence in her mind if she had become involved beforehand, and honestly, they were correct. Although she would have tried to balance the two, she had a sneaking suspicion that she would have let her schoolwork suffer in order to help out more in the OOTP.
But, she was able to balance her membership with the OOTP and her job at the law firm with no problems. Until she got sick. Although what was to become known as Epidemic X was sweeping the country, she never expected that she would get sick, and eventually lose all use of her magic. Luckily, she has been able to function decently well without, claiming that she owes a large part of that to her Alma Mater as it integrated a lot of muggle technologies into their curriculum. She has been able to keep her job at the law firm, luckily not needing her magic for that either, but does miss the conveniences magic allowed her.

The Parr family is descended from the same centuries old line that Catherine Parr, sixth wife of Henry VIII, Queen of England and Ireland was a part of. The line started muggle, but over the centuries there were enough magical members born that now the Parr family is made almost exclusively of halfbloods.

Megara was unable to sleep and disliked taking sleeping draughts, which is why she was instead walking to and fro in the underground portion of the castle, and although her bejeweled black robe graced the floor, it did little to keep out the chill of the dungeons. Especially since she was barefoot. She figured that everyone was asleep in their beds so she didn’t have to worry about being that presentable.
She was currently going back and forth between a closet, which she used for the abundance of potion ingredients she kept, and a door that only appeared at her will and command; it opened to a staircase that led further down into the dungeons, where she had potions that either had incredibly long brew times, or shouldn’t be able to be accessed by just any passerby.
Due to the late hour, she was not concerned about anyone walking through the dungeon halls; that was until she came back up the staircase, flinging the door open into what was definitely a human body.
