[attr="class","tweedles"]Sometimes PJ wondered what he did with his life before he had kids, some thirty odd years ago, and he honestly just didn't know how he survived. Fatherhood was as easy and integral as breathing, to PJ; as essential to his existence as strong Irish coffee and books and sleeping. Gwen once joked that he'd go mad without someone to care for and love on, and really, PJ saw the truth in it. Maybe his magic had known and assisted in creating Keenan for that reason, because Kasey was grown now, and he'd been going barmy in their empty house while Gwen worked. Of course, now that they had one, PJ was feeling the baby-fever again--not that it ever stopped, just faded into the background while he busied himself with what they had--and there was some inkling from his magic that said they weren't done yet. He wasn't sure if Gwen was alright with another at their age, though she'd been happy to have Keenan. It didn't seem right that for all PJ was the one with baby-fever, Gwen got stuck with the difficult but rewarding job of growing their little bean. PJ would gladly take on the job himself if he could, but even magic had its limits where biology was concerned. Best to talk to Gwen about it before he went ahead and started that wishing real hard for it, nip it in the bud before it grew unmanageable. If all they had was the four they had, PJ would be more than happy, and he'd probably pick up his pester game for grandkids.

In any case, Keenan was excitement enough right now, toddling all over and generally being a mischievous little bug--they had to baby-proof the house all over again for the first time in decades, which was an adventure. At almost two years old, Keenan could walk and sort-of-talk, always asking questions about 'what dis' and 'why Daddy' and even occasionally 'b'cause I say so, Daddy'. He'd make a marvelous big brother. PJ had taken to bringing Keenan with him to the shop, because for all his mischievous nature, the babe was a well-behaved child and had little issue entertaining himself with enough resources. So PJ set Keenan to play in the play area and went about putting new books away while double-checking everything was in the right place. Not everybody put books back in the exact right spot, not even PJ all the time, but it made shopping easier when things were organized for the customers.

The bell above the door jingled to announce the arrival of a customer, and PJ greeted them with a smile before returning to the task at hand. Keenan shouted a gleeful, "Hi!" and went back to...whatever he was doing with that plush owl. PJ wasn't sure he wanted to know.
