Miranda Goshawk was the author of the Standard Book of Spells series. She, along with her children, furthered the legacy of seeking out and making accessible practical magic by establishing the Goshawk Technical College of London in 1980.

The school is meant to fill a practical niche left open by the more academically focus secondary education programs available in Europe. No matter one's age, a student may attend Goshawk. NEWT preparatory courses and exams are available at the institution, allowing adults to complete their education long after leaving Hogwarts or other wizarding primary school.

Goshawk's Workforce Solutions department delivers training for individuals looking to expand their current skills or certifications or explore a new career path, or both! These career track courses are designed to provide in-demand skills in a short timeframe.

SCHOOL CALENDAR
Goshawk operates year round.
New classes are offered on a monthly basises. All classes run for exactly one month. Students may take no more than two classes each month and are encouraged to take only one at a time.
Classes are held from 9am-3pm, Monday through Thursday or 4pm-8pm, Monday through Friday.

NEWT review and exam preparation courses are offered in the evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule based on demand.

Description of Shop: Situated more on the outskirts of the shopping centre of Rhiannon, this shop is seemingly quaint and simple. Named for the legendary burying site of Merlin the Enchanter, it holds just as many mysteries as the tale. This shop specializes in rare artefacts and jewelry, tomes of ancient times, and objects holding darker spells. Brocéliande also offers services in translating ancient works, and cursing, hexing, or jinxing any objects that are brought in--subtly, of course.

Description of Shop: In busy central London, disguised by a myriad of Charms and protective spells, lies the English head office of Éclat Magazine, a tall office building that can only be seen by magical folk. It has floor to ceiling windows on every floor, and above the main entrance levitates a large sign of cursive letters that reads "Éclat," in a hue reminiscent of champagne. The main floor of this building has the reception, information desk, and waiting area for anyone that has appointments with the magazine. The next three floors house the offices and cubicles of the Éclat employees, as well as several conference rooms and work spaces. A floor above that is a photography studio, equipped with a diverse selection of clothing and vanities, all manned by professional makeup artists. Finally, the top floor is reserved for the owner and editor herself, Diane Naser, with a perfect view of the London skyline.

Description of Shop:

From the outside this parlor appears very Mediterranean in style. It has a white exterior with black accents including the roof, columns, and door. The sign hanging out front matches the building with a fancy italic script. Upon entry the building seems spit in half by a long hall and staircase with two open rooms on either side. One is typically set for funerals with a space at the front for staging and chairs lined in rows. On the opposite side of the building is an open reception area that is typically used following ceremonies for the family to gather, eat, drink, and reminisce about loved ones passed. The bathroom is just down the hall past the staircase, which leads upstairs to a set of offices. At the very end of the hall there is a small kitchen area where food and drink can be stored and prepared for attendees. There is also a large black door which remains locked and leads to the mortician's work space where the deceased are prepared.
