Basement

The basement of the hospital is, obviously, for authorized personnel only. There is no access to this level for patients or visitors. It is where the records are kept, and is also where the morgue is, so obviously it is where employees in those specific departments spend their time. No in-training healers or nurses are allowed in the basement unless accompanied by, or in possession of written permission from, a healer or nurse practicing in the hospital.

The ground floor of the hospital is where the entrance is, of course. It is where people walk in, and they see the reception area. On the floor, there is also the ward for artefact accidents, as well as the emergency ward for any seriously injured patient admitted into the hospital. They would go here first and foremost, and when they were stable, would be transferred to the proper ward. There is also the clinic, for minor colds and aches and pains.

The first floor is where one would go if they found themselves hurt because of a creature. They're particularly good with bites, stings, burns, embedded spines, etc. They are where someone would go if they were attacked by a werewolf, a vampire, any creature at all, really. This floor is also home to the surgical ward, for any occasion where an injury is so bad that a healer must perform surgery.

On the second floor, one would find all patients that have been diagnosed with a bug or a disease, such as Dragon Pox, Vanishing Sickness, Scrofungulus, and other such illnesses. It is also where the hospital's pharmacy is located, where patients can pick up prescriptions.

If anyone found themselves with a specific concern, perhaps an odd mark on the skin, or something wrong with eyes, ears, or anything like that, one would come to the third floor to find a general practice healer. It is also where one would go if they were poisoned, by either potion or plant.

The fourth floor is where one would go if they had any spell damage, from any number of hexes, jinxes, or poorly placed charms. For anyone with long-term spell damage, there is the Janus Thickey Ward, which is usually locked to keep patients from wandering around. The hospital director's office is located here as well.

On the fifth floor, visitors can find the tearoom, to have a drink and some snacks after seeing their friends and loved ones. There is also the hospital gift shop, where they could come after said cup of tea, in order to by whomever they are visiting a present. The maternity ward is up here as well, for anyone... well, having a baby, quite obviously.

In order to enter St. Mungo's, one would step through the window of what looks to Muggles like a condemned department store. Once inside, one would find that the hospital houses many floors for any number of ailments that could befall a witch or wizard. The ground floor houses the welcome desk, along with artefact accidents, the first floor is the place to go for creature-induced injuries, whereas the second floor is for anyone falling ill due to magical bugs and diseases. The third floor helps to heal any poisonings caused by potions and plants, fourth floor is for spell damage as well as housing the Janus Thickey Ward and the William Tuke Ward for Persons of Disordered Minds. One would find the visitors' tearoom and hospital shop on the top floor.
