Kiki honestly hated that she was so excited that summer break was now upon her. Many students loved the break this season brought from classes, but that wasn’t necessarily the reason she was overjoyed. No, instead, the soon-to-be sixth year was happy to go home and immerse herself back into the muggle world. She felt guilty for feeling this way. School really wasn’t bad. In fact it was pretty good. Her head of house was lovely, Quidditch had been great, getting to hang out with her best friend all of the time was a blessing, and of course, she couldn’t discount getting to know Zeke. Yes, all of this was wonderful, but she still longed to just be home. Hell, she even missed her sister, Shayna and the annoyance she tended to be.

But for now, she would not bother herself with the anticipation she felt. This was to be a time of celebration of the wonderful year she had. Before heading down to the Great Hall, she looked through her scrapbook one more time. As she flipped through the album, she smiled at each memory of her fifth year here laid out before her. I guess being a witch isn’t so bad. Once finished, she closed the book and headed to the feast, knowing she was already late.

When she arrived, she looked at the Hufflepuff table and gave a slight groan. Knowing that she would have to sit with her housemates meant that there was really only one person she cared to sit next to, and he wasn’t here yet. I knew I should have yelled for him before I left the common room. Knowing that Caleb would probably be along shortly gave her a bit of reassurance as she took her seat.

Alright, Sutherland, just one more stupid social event and you’re home free for the summer. Just you, nature, and no one else. Ahh, doesn’t that sound wonderful? Todd Sutherland smiled a rare sincere smile. Usually his grins were more like sarcastic smirks, but he was more than elated to be welcoming the summer break. Soon, he would be home away from students and out in the woods with his bow. It was just unfortunate that this school had an overwhelming desire to have five hundred fucking parties. Wasn’t the damn ball enough? Why is a feast necessary too?

Hogwarts was almost just a complete waste of time to the Ravenclaw. Classes weren’t challenging, and he didn’t particularly care to make friends with anyone. All anyone cared about who liked who, who was dating who, who was shagging who, who cheated on who, and Quidditch. He longed for some intelligent conversation, but was convinced it was nowhere to be found among his classmates. Well, I guess they aren’t all bad. Roman’s alright, but there aren’t too many like him. Todd supposed his housemates were alright. Hell, they were sorted into Ravenclaw for a reason.

He took a random seat among the Ravenclaws, not caring enough to know who he was sitting next to. It wasn’t like he knew anyone in his house very well. The blonde was only here because he had to be. If he was lucky, the food would be wonderful, but he doubted it would compare to anything he could catch himself, of course.

The end of the school year would mean having to deal with the shit that was going on in the real world, as opposed to being stuck at the school, mildly kept away from all of that. Of course, anyone who read the Prophet could get a good idea of what was happening; it was simply skewed to make the Ministry look good so it had to be taken with a grain of salt. Or a damn pound of salt, he corrected, since he was sure that it was a hell of a lot worse than the paper was acting like it was. He hadn’t gone home for Easter or Christmas, so really he hadn’t seen what was going on outside of these walls since August. Merlin knows it could have gotten a hell of a lot worse since then, and they would be finding out very soon. Working would take up some of his time, though he imagined being in Diagon Alley so often would help him to see what was really going on—and it got him out of his house, which could only be deemed a success. Isabella was working in Diagon Alley as well, and that was simply another benefit of that. Now, if the biggest problem they faced this holiday was him meeting her family, then he could say that they might actually stand a damn chance at having a good summer. “We share similar viewpoints, then,” he agreed, lightly, before glancing briefly around the hall. Evan knew that they both had aunts to avoid, apparently, though she had a bit more reason than he did. But his aunt was just more… outwardly unpleasant, rather than them having outright problems.

Luckily, getting a job had been an idea that would work in his benefit. It got him out of the house, and that would keep him and his aunt from having any unnecessary interactions. It had been easy to decide to apply to Quality Quidditch, though he wasn’t sure that he’d even be hired having no job experience in… bloody anything, but luckily he had. There weren’t really any other places that he had been interested in working at anyhow, so he supposed that had worked out well. “By quantity, obviously you’re going to sell more,” he replied, grinning, “Ice cream costs less, but by income brought in, I’m going to be outselling you by a damn landslide—or, hell, maybe I will just sell more in general,” Evan added, contemplating the possibility. For all he knew, he was just a natural salesperson, and that could be something else that he excelled at. They would find out soon enough, he supposed. “What are you betting?” He asked, raising an eyebrow, as that was obviously a deciding factor on how hard he would be working, clearly.

As a student, Daisy had always hated to see that the end of term feast come. It meant that she would no longer have the comfort of the large castle to allow her to keep her distance from her family. It meant going home and not having her friends there to help her when Petunia insisted she was actually a squib. It was, in a way, absolute torture for summer to come. She could never relate to those students that wanted to go home, The love of being at school fostered a love for learning and made Daisy who she was today, so she supposed it wasn’t all bad. Plus, now, she was an adult and could look at the end of term feast in a new light. Now, the young woman saw it as one big hooplah before students had to bid their farewells to each other. At least the feast allowed them all to be together and for loose ends to be tied up by the headmistress. She was certain that the graduating students probably appreciated something like this.

Professor Lowry entered the Great Hall and nodded at her Ravenclaw students as she passed them. She gave special acknowledgment to her seventh years, congratulating them on their success. Daisy would be sad to see them go. Sure she had only been their professor for a short amount of time, but that was the sad thing about it. She wished she could have gotten to know each one of them more. Nevertheless, she knew they would do well, despite her not really knowing them as much as she would have liked.

One she reached the staff table, she saw that @minerva and @samuel were already there. “Hello Minerva, she said nodding to her as she passed the podium. Just like when she was a student, Daisy was very excited to hear whatever parting words McGonagall would bestow upon the students. As she took a seat, she looked at Samuel with a slight smirk. “Professor Copeland, I must say, you are a very prompt person.” Even when she had arrived at the ball, he was already there.

Her summers were never exactly pleasant, obviously—sometimes she would go so far as to say that they were outright unpleasant. But now she had to deal with Trey as well; and although she had originally thought perhaps she’d get a very small break from him since he hadn’t mentioned anything about … well, anything, her mother had shot that idea straight to hell with this dinner. Now she would not even get more than a few hours away from this ridiculous situation before he’d be at their damn house. He was going to get too much amusement out of how she was treated at home, since it was very much on par to how he wanted her to act, apparently. The only difference was she actually consented pretty easily at home in order to make home… livable. Otherwise, it would be a lot more than just unpleasant. So she knew already that Trey would be taking advantage of that, and she already bloody knew that they were irritatingly going to like him. Perhaps in the next twenty four hours she’d attempt to think up a way to injure herself just enough to get out of going to dinner, but not enough to die, obviously. Surely, it wouldn’t be too hard to throw something like that together. It would be the best way to get out of a dinner with everyone who just wanted her to shut up and look pretty, which were two of her least favorite things to do, quite bloody clearly.

Shagging @trey had been a mistake, but apparently she was done trying to convince herself that it wasn’t going to happen again. The first time she had blamed temporary insanity, but there were only so many times that she could use that as an excuse. It was the only time that he was tolerable anyhow. Knowing that this could potentially last longer than she had originally anticipated, Cecilia supposed she couldn’t consider it too big of a mistake, but it probably wasn’t helping bore him away. Though, she figured that boredom might not stop him at this point if his motives had to do with her father, as they clearly did. She found it the hardest to take him seriously whenever he said anything nice, and almost rolled her eyes when he called her beautiful, but instead just kissed him back. Him waiting for her to just walk into the hall and have to go to different tables was pretty useless in her mind, but she knew that Trey just liked anything that meant she was doing what he said and pissing off Roman in the process. “We can’t have that,” she muttered under her breath, waiting for him to head into the hall.

The boy honestly couldn’t wait for the summer holidays to start. Thankfully it was now only a few hours away. Caleb was looking forward to finally having a job this summer, he wasn’t sure yet what he would use the money he earned while working for yet. Perhaps when he graduated next June he would get his own place. He would make his decision after speaking to his father. Of course the Hufflepuff knew that he would have his dad’s support either way. And it was something they could actually discuss unlike Quidditch moves or potion ingredients.

Right now however the main task on Caleb’s mind was tied to find his damn Tie. He was searching frantically around his dorm for it. He didn’t want to be late for the feast, it was of course the last chance he had to eat the delectable food Hogwarts offered. Maybe that was something he would work on over summer, improving his cooking skills, he could ask his grandmother for help. It would be needed if he was going to be moving out of home when he finished school. Finally finding his tie under his bed Caleb draped it around his neck and tied using a half Windsor knot.

Thankfully being a Hufflepuff meant he didn’t have far to travel to get to the Great Hall. Entering the immense room his eyes automatically shifted to the Ravenclaw table. He scanned it but didn’t find the redhead he was seeking. He frowned momentarily before making his way over to the Hufflepuff table. He dropped into a seat next to @kiki. “Hey, all ready for summer?” he asked his best friend as he eyes briefly shifted towards the staff table then back to Kiki.

So many thoughts occupied Samuel’s head at the moment. He looked over at the Gyffindor table smiling slightly most of them appeared to be happy except maybe a few seventh years who looked a little apprehensive. He couldn’t blame them, graduating school was very daunting, it seemed to be heightened when one was witch of wizard. Even more so nowadays if anything what the Daily Prophet published was true. But he knew to take anything the paper wrote with a ‘grain of salt’. The man also worried about his younger lions, sure they would be considered second years in a few months’ time but being only 12 and going into something like this was definitely something he wanted for them. Samuel smiled briefly to himself as he watched the few stragglers enter and make their way to their house table. He walked around and sat down in his usual seat and waited for the headmistress to address the students.

He rested his chin his elbows which he had propped up on the table and tried to clear his mind and enjoy the feast ahead of them . Hearing someone address him, he looked up to see @daisy wearing a smirk on her face. He arched his brow as she sat down. Turning his head Samuel changed his expression to a smirk before speaking. “Of course Professor Lowry, it’s always essential to set a good example for the students” Samuel often had late comers to his classes, something he had adapted to after teaching at Hogwarts for three years now.

It was strange to think that she had actually developed the ability to give a shit about someone other than himself, wondering if that was the only true Hufflepuff trait she had ever shown. Caring about someone seemed like absolutely something she was incapable of doing, especially given her background and who her father was. Apparently, she was proven wrong by Finn, almost immediately after meeting him. It was going to be a long summer, annoyingly so. She was glad that Finn didn’t make a big deal out of her not returning to Hogwarts the next year, wondering if maybe he was finally able to pull himself out of caring too much. Perhaps there was hope for them yet. Either way, they still had at least one more night…and the train ride…as she supposed they might as well check that off of their list…bloody obviously. As this was her final trip in the magical world, it only made sense to take advantage of such ridiculousness that taught her nothing in life.

Mila was glad that it didn’t take long before he showed up, already feeling less irritated by the people that seemed to exist. “More than ever,” she responded, smirking back as she gave him a look at his recognizing the fact that there was no food. It seemed like this school would forever want to drain everything from them, boring them to fucking death. “I wonder if they would even bother expelling us on our last day,” she mused, almost tempted by the thought just to go out with a bloody bang for the hell of it.

It really was going to be weird not being able to see Evan on a daily basis as they had been used to since they started dating the second time. It wasn’t that they always planned to see each other, but between having similar interests, the fact that they were in the same house and the fact that they were on the same quidditch team, seeing each other had only come naturally. Now, they would actually have to start planning to meet up, through writing…which was interesting, she supposed. It wasn’t like she was going to do something even crazier and start using the floo network or whatever as she hadn’t used that…ever. Of course, that definitely wasn’t something she went around sharing with people, especially since she was a bloody pureblood. No matter, she figured that at least with them working in the same village, they would intentionally meet up there at the least. Was it normal to all of a sudden want to start seeing her boyfriend more now that the idea of seeing him was sounding like it was going to be a rare occurrence this summer? Her only hope was that her family was going to love him, making spending at least some time with him to not sound so crazy. These thoughts alone were simply ridiculous and not something normal to be bloody thinking about.

“Quantity, income…doesn’t matter. I think you’ll find that I can be convincing when I want to be,” she shrugged. Really, she had no idea as she had never sold anything in her life that she could recall. Regardless, it didn’t sound terribly difficult. “I’ll be sure to only buy quidditch supplies from…anywhere but Quality Quidditch. Maybe I’ll swing by and be a disgruntled customer during rush hour,” she mused, smirking at the idea. Of course, she would never actually do something that ridiculous, but she would have to put off buying any quidditch supplies until when he wasn’t working. “If I win, which I clearly will, then you will be my slave for a week, doing whatever I tell you to do without complaint. Vice versa if you win, which you won’t,” she smirked arrogantly, excited that the summer was really starting to look promising already.

Kahina was nearly prancing in excitement as she made her way to the Great Hall. It was going to be absolutely exciting to see the older students off, if not a bit on the sad side. She was so excited for the future that they held before them, trusting that they were all prepared enough to make wise decisions if that was what they had desired. They would all reach that fork in the road in which they would be required to make tough decisions and it was only her hope that they had been prepared enough for that. Smiling, she looked at the faces that she passed by, waving to familiar students and offering a warm smile to all before she finally reached the staff table. Tomorrow, the returning students would be leaving for home, enjoying a summer off before returning to using their brains to obtain the knowledge that the professors sought to teach them. It was all so very exciting! A part of her hoped she ran into a student or two during the summer to get the opportunity to see them in their natural habitat, away from needing to pretend to be model students.

“Headmistress,” Kahina smiled widely, nodding to the Headmistress, @minerva, fondly. The Headmistress has done absolutely phenomenal with the students as their Headmistress, expecting no less. “Professor Copeland, Professor Lowry, pleasant seeing you as always,” she smiled to the two professors, @samuel and @daisy, taking her seat as she looked out at the students. Perhaps the professor could spend time together outside of school meetings if that was even a thing. Maybe she was being a bit hopeful or optimistic, she mused, smile intact as she watched the students chattering.
